I was wondering how many games were released for the gamecube that used previous save files.
Like Lego Star Wars II loading characters unlocked in lego star wars 1.
So far the only games i can think of are,

Lego Starwars 2: Linking to Lego Star Wars
Donkey Konga 2: Linking to Donkey Konga
Sonic Gems Collection: Linking to Sonic mega collection
Sonic Mega Collection: Linking to Sonic Adventure 2 Battle And Phantasy Star online Episode 1 & 2
Metal Gear Solid Twin Snake with Psychomantis

They don't need to be from a prior game they just need to be able to recognize other saves on a memory card.

I think there was something that you can transfer your character from F-Zero GX to the arcade game F-Zero AX

It works in two ways. The arcade machine has a memorycard slot so you can play your unlocked stuff in AX on the arcade machine. And get stuff unlocked in GX for playing the relevant character in AX.

Sometimes Nintendo get things right

Super Smash Bros Melee. unlocks a trophy if you've played Pikmin before.

The same goes for Luigi's Mansion.
