About SD-Boot

Post by slimjim » Fri Apr 02, 2010 8:28 am

Is work still being done on 0.4 for a final release? I know it was up to RC4 last I heard about it before Tehskeen went down.

since this is concerning SD-Boot (well, a bit...) i'll just ask tthis in here:
is there gamecube able to boot without a discdrive plugged into the mainboard? don't have one to test right now!
please search before you ask - a lot has been discussed already!

Cubelover is in tha house ;) Thanks emu_kidid for reviving the gc homebrew scene, much appreciated.

One question, my Action Replay Disc is broken, so I cant use GC homebrew with my Gamecube anymore,
but I also have a Wii and since it has a gc mode, it is possible to run gc homebrew on a Wii using a patched MIOS.

I tried the latest SD-Boot application with GC-Boot to launch my backup games from my SD Gecko, but it doesnt seem to work. SD-Boot is loaded correcty and the game is detected, but though I put a retail disc in drive, a screen appears with the information that I should still put a disc in the drive. For some reason SD-Boot cant dectect my retail disc.

Here are the details of my Wii, maybe they are helpfull

System Menu 4.2E
latest BC
patched MIOS v5

Thanks in advance and keep up the good work :)

I think he made two versions before tehskeen went down one which intilized it's filesystem after sdml and one that didn't :? it also took the ngc region from the ipl.
I still have the one that intilizes off sdml on my sd-card as the other one didn't work if it's ok with emu_kidid i'll upload it.

Did anyone have RC3? I've been searching for it forever because on the compatibility page the Resident Evil remake needs it to work :(

Don't worry about all of these versions, the next version should be pretty nice :)

No matter what I do, SD-Boot keeps asks me to insert an original disc. I tried any SD-Boot versions, different settings, different System Menus, different BCs, but it didnt work.

According to the compatibility list ( http://wiki.scorpei.com/index.php/SD-Bo ... ility_list ), Wario World PAL should work with SD-Boot v0.3 on a PAL Wii, but thats not the case here.

Be patient, the new version is hopefully coming soon. I worked on it a little this weekend, many many improvements were made, to both compatibility and features :)

I have an unmodded DOL-001. Will I be able to launch SD Boot straight from SD Gecko or do I need a method to launch GC Homebrew before I can use your upcoming SD Boot? Thanks in advance for any info you can provide.

Emu_kidid,
some games in version final 0.4 rc4 run with lags sometimes...
When playing Metroid Prime 2 Echoes NTSC (Audio sttuter fix OFF) the lags is constant... This is bad for gameplay...

In new version this problem is fixed?

Tks!
