Kinda true...
Here's the thing: if I boot a game and chooses progressive scan, the gamecube just hangs and display an image with the half brightness. Interlaced mode works fine, but if I boot the swiss first, leave the force progressive off and try again the progressive mode selection, progressive scan will work fine
Right now I only own one USA game (Zelda WW), So I can not test other games to see if this problem repeats. All my other games are Japanese, they all work in progressive scan through Swiss.
A strange thing that I noticed is that the Swiss always force NTSC color in composite and s-video, if I boot a game without it, the system stay in PAL-M.
My GC is a DOL-002 and I use a D-Terminal cable with RCA adapter.
So does anyone know of a possible fix for this?
My Gamecube does not support progressive scan
Re: My Gamecube does not support progressive scan
This is normal for PAL-M, post-launch games will crash on progressive scan. Just use Swiss.
Re: My Gamecube does not support progressive scan
This is really weird, I thought only the PAL gamecube had this problem, not PAL-M. Now I can not use RGB and neither 480pExtrems wrote:This is normal for PAL-M, post-launch games will crash on progressive scan. Just use Swiss.
I know, I can use Swiss but I hoped I would not have to use it for everything, It's a pain in the ass to always swap discs.
Does the GCvideo or force progressive scan on modchips will help?
Re: My Gamecube does not support progressive scan
GCVideo does nothing for software problems. Modchips are less compatible.
Re: My Gamecube does not support progressive scan
Oh well, it seems to be possible to put Swiss on Qoob Pro flash memory, better than swap discs.
Anyway, thanks for the help, Extrems

Re: My Gamecube does not support progressive scan
You should use iplboot instead of flashing Swiss to the Qoob. You can also flash an NTSC IPL to it.

Can you point where I can get more information about the iplboot and IPL flash?Streetwalker wrote:You should use iplboot instead of flashing Swiss to the Qoob. You can also flash an NTSC IPL to it.

You can find the flashing tool in the Qoob thread with the latest official update.
