Hey I just got the datal sd media launcher really just to play path of radiance and some snes games but neither will load. path of radiance goes to a black screen and snes9xGX says there is not a sd card loaded despite being booted from that sd card . From what I've read it could be a problem with the card reader or the card itself I can get a new sd card today but a reader id have to wait for so do I absolutely need the reader or could I get away with just a better sd card.

I'm using micro sd's booting swiss with a Kingston 2gb micro sd and I also have a Kingston 16gb micro sdhc

Yeah, the datel adaptor is trash + you're adding in another level of connection by using a microSD adaptor. Try a different (full size) card + adaptor.
