Broken Codejunkies Master Codes

Post by TreblaYevrah » Tue Jan 04, 2022 12:25 am

Hey folks. I've made quite a few of my own Action Replay codes for Gamecube games over the years, but lately ran into a bizarre issue. Hope someone around here might be able to help.

Despite Codejunkies releasing Action Replay as a commercial product, some of their master codes have never worked... at all. One I fixed myself was the NTSC version of 007 Everything or Nothing. They simply had a useless line of code that would cause the game to crash (not the same issue for the PAL version).

Anyway, another 007 game seems to have issues as well; 007 Agent Under Fire. Firstly, the PAL master code has apparently never functioned, period. Secondly, while the NTSC code does sort of work, it in fact does not work for the driving missions (separate engine for the FPS and driving sections, same as Everything or Nothing). Furthermore, the FPS mission codes will stop working when returning from the driving engine. This is quite odd, considering Codejunkies did in fact add lines to the master code for the driving engine. They just don't do anything.

While I am a somewhat competent hacker, master codes are something I have very little knowledge about how to make outside of very basic ones. Any help would be appreciated.

007 AUF (NTSC)
(m)
0C682258 4E800020
C4682258 0000FF01
0C01EE30 4E800020
C401EE30 0000FF02
4C1F4BC0 4E800020
C41F4BC0 0002FF04
C42099AC 0000FF03
4C15C8D4 4E800020
C415C8D4 0002FF06
C40FF498 0000FF05

007 AUF (PAL)
(m)
0C682258 4E800020
C4682258 0000FF01
0C01D5D0 4E800020
C401D5D0 0000FF02
4C1F3B8C 4E800020
C41F3B8C 0002FF03
C4209B74 0000FF06
4C15CCD4 4E800020
C415CCD4 0002FF03
C40FF898 0000FF06

Those are the respective master codes. Only the bottom three lines of each seem relevant to the driving engine. I tried checking every line of the PAL code and matching identical memory addresses from the NTSC version, but the result was still a completely broken code. Regardless, the NTSC code is bad anyway.

I also long ago discovered this problem in the Everything or Nothing. Good thing there is Version PAL. If one day you find out the true code for the Infinite Health(car), do not forget to post here. It's a very useful code.

I haven't done Master Codes in a long time but I will recommend something that should be useful:

if you have multiple games in HD, you will see that some have the same date. Dolphin is very good at identifying this. You just need to find an equal game and check the lines close to your respective Master Code. You will notice one pattern and discover the Master Code of the other game. Or a better version. Codejunkies did several bad ones.

I have the American version of the Agent Under Fire. I think I have Version 1.0. Perhaps, different versions can make this list useless. These are some games to do your research:

Army Men - RTS
Beach Spikers - Virtua Beach Volleyball
BloodRayne
Burnout
Crash Bandicoot - The Wrath of Cortex
Dead to Rights
Lost Kingdoms
Medal of Honor - Frontline
Need for Speed - Hot Pursuit 2
Resident Evil

Remember that multiples DOLs, it may be necessary to load them so that nearby lines appear. Good luck.

Thanks for the quick response. I do have some of the games listed, so that's a good lead for sure.

Regarding the infinite health code for 007 Everything or Nothing, like I say I already made a fixed NTSC (m) code, so I could just encrypt Codejunkies old code with my version to make it functional. I just have a few codes listed for that game here, mainly ones I made to confirm the new master code was working:
