Moving PAL PSO save file to JP memory card

I hope this is the right place to ask this, apologies if not!

I have a save file for my PAL Phantasy Star Online Ep1+2. I am hoping to purchase PSO EP1+2 Plus so that I can play the towers offline.

Unfortunately Ep 1+2 plus was never released in PAL regions :-( I have looked at importing the US version but it is very expensive these days! The JP version however is a lot cheaper and I believe that it has an English language option.

What I am wondering is if it is possible to use my existing PAL save with it? I have it backed up using gcmm and so could write it onto a different memory card if needed. I don't fully understand the differences between the memory card format used for PAL vs that used for JP games.

Any help much appreciated :-)

If you only want to play some download quest offline (and you're able to use AR or Gecko cheat codes), then you should take a look here:
