Hey i was just wondering, did anybody ever mess with this or is it worth a shot?

I don't know if you can use the LCD, but you can put the frontlight of the GBA SP in a regular GBA. Someone at benheck did it:

i just hate the case layout of the SP...who did they test this on? children 6 and below only?

I know the feeling - I'm currently playing through Zelda 4 Swords on Gamecube using a GBA SP...

And don't you love it how GB/GBC games stick out of the bottom?
