Hi GC-Forever,

I'm am pretty big on video game collecting and have been collecting video games for about 4-5 years now. Since then, I have allocated 100+ games (not including my current gen consoles). I am wondering...what are some good ways to keep them in tip top shape? Right now, I have my GC, Wii, Genesis (boxed/loose), loose SNES, loose NES games on a shelf and have been paranoid that dust will someway, somehow deform them or something. My N64 games, which I'm actually aiming to collect all US releases one day, are in a dresser.

So, yeah, what are some do's and don'ts when it comes to taking care of video games?

I answer a year and a half later but professional collectors use hard plastic cases like there are in some videogame store, I guess they are pretty expensive but if the games are worth it, you can do that. On ebay there are some rare games in those boxes so you can take a look

Dust is your main enemy here. Plastic cases are really a worthwhile investment if you're serious about collecting. Also, it's generally a good idea to store your games in a dark, well-ventilated place, but i guess you probably knew that. Also i knew someone who swore by keeping the discs upright and not horizontal, i think that was about pressure building up on them over time.

He's talking about plastic cases that fit around original boxes/cases.

I would say keep them in the plastic boxes and put on a shelf that has doors, to avoid dush. But mine gone bad anyway after few years :(

The first website looks good actually, especially $119 for 200 boxes. Wish I have 200 video games though...
