Help with recent GameCube purchases

Post by Trains-man » Sun Feb 25, 2018 9:09 am

I recently purchased a GameCube with controller and tony hawk pro skater 3,

Now when I turn it on with no disk, it starts up fine, but when I put the disk in, it reads it in the "play game" section of the menu, it says the title and year but as soon as I start it it's just a black screen, nothing more

No strange noises, disk spins, no error code

Is this a disk problem or an optical drive problem, or something else?

You should try another game, but considering the disc is unscratched it's most likely your drive that's going wrong. Try cleaning the lens with isopropyl alcohol and a q-tip, and then adjusting the pot if that doesn't help.

I received one that did the same thing but after 2_3 minutes would say couldn't be read. Had a hair clip stick under the laser. Make sure the rails are clear of debris and laser slides smoothly
