can it be, that both Metroid Prime games aren't patchable with the pre-patcher?

I boot sd-boot 0.4 RC4 with Wii Gamecube Homebrew Launcher.
I can also boot swiss with Wii Gamecube Homebrew Launcher the but the black screen problem is still present

I still couldn't load any games. I patched them and tried forcing it to PAL.

Ok, i'm out of ideas with my black screen issue(PAL Wii + SD Gecko slot B + Wind Waker PAL retail in the drive + load Wind Waker PAL unpatched 1:1 copy on sd card in SD Gecko).

I found out that, if i don't patch the dvd read, then i can boot the game from sd gecko, while the reads are actually done from the disc. Loading from disc always works btw.

Yes, with the correct disc in the drive and this:
//dvd_patchDVDRead(app_dst, app_len);
the game works "from SD Gecko", and i can even eject and reinsert the disc without problems. -> patched read disc id seems to be fine.

Ok, it's not actually a SD Gecko, it's a wiikey adapter, but until now i thought it doesn't make a difference. Also i had this with 2 different cards, and also tried 2 different ways of formating and then only putting the .iso on it.

My Gamecube is poltergeisted. It hates Zelda TP (NTSC).

Months ago I finished Zelda Twilight Princess using sd boot, used to work perfectly. Tested on swiss, works fine too. But suddenly it stopped loading.

I:
-Deleted the iso, extracted another. Don't work.
-Ripped again from original disc. Don't work.
-Downloaded a new iso. Don't work.
-Tested all these isos with various swiss revs. Don't work.
-Tested all these isos with sdboot. Don't work.

Green screened all the way.

oookay. :|

You should really look into the black and green screen issues, because a lot of people seem to have the same problems
I have a XenoGC, a SD Media Launcher, a SD Gecko and a IcedCube case for my Nintendo Gamecube

Yay. :D

This fixed my Gamecube Zelda hate.
Now Twilight Princess and Wind Waker are working perfectly, no more poltergeist Cube. 8-)

Metroid Prime now works again.

howdy emu_kidid and Swiss community , ive tried 3 games and get a black or white screen upon boot. 1 of the games is reported to be working which stumps me , also all 3 games work with SD-BOOT V0.4 B8 ive tried them.

Virtua_Striker_3_2002_USA_NGC-USA
Beach_Spikers_PAL_NGC-DEATHCUBE
Super_Smash_Brothers_Melee_USA_PROPER_NGC-STINKYCUBE

i dont think its a Swiss problem i think i am doing something wrong , below is how i am attempting to run these games.

PAL DOL-001 Gamecube
2GB Sandisk Formatted FAT32
Extract each game to my Hard Drive then Copy over to the SD Card
Insert SD Card to WII Key SD Adapter and after that run Swiss which has been uploaded to my QOOB Pro's Flash Memory
Insert Original Game into Gamecube and close lid
Select ISO/GCM and Boot Game

As i said i get a Black or White screen after Swiss does its thing , ive tried both swiss-0.1-r2.zip and swiss-lz-videotest.zip

any suggestions welcome

dragbe and s8n187, are you making sure that the games are not fragmented? Try to not force any video modes either.

Would it be possible to see ext3 filesystem support for Swiss someday? The fragmentation on FAT is just awful - all the games I try give a black screen. I think it's because of framentation on the SD card.

Hey it now says "Game is using outdated pre-patcher" but before it said game does not require pre-patching. (Resident Evil Remake/ NTSC)
Still black screen. :/

I think the new version will mostly only fix the green screen issues. Green screen freeze = >90% chance there's a video mode problem.

My black screen is related to reading from SD Gecko, if everything else is done from disc it works. I'm starting to think my cards are heavily used and have bad sectors in the middle.

Anybody knows a tools to check for fragmentation? So until fragmentation support is added, everybody should test his .isos with that.
