wii_hd, ok that is a good dump according to: http://redump.org/disc/697/

There's no players choice version for NTSC. I think I know what's going on... I'll have to investigate this game a little bit when I get some time.

I know this is offtopic, but I wonder why there's so much interest about this game. I don't like it at all.

Indeed it is a good dump. ripped it myself and am able to play the disc backup of the dump perfectly through so I'm sure it's a good rip.

it's possible there's other early games which exhibit the same behavior so I'm keen to fix this one too

Still Luigi's Manion???
Comment 1 by nintendo...@kaffeeschluerfer.com, Mar 4, 2011

It seems the game has random issues. Tested R33 booted via Wii Swiss Booter on a PAL Wii with Wind Waker PAL in the drive. Booting from SD-Gecko(Wii Key sd adapter) in slot B.

There are sound issues and sometimes the game freezes when skipping the "enter the villa" movie, sometimes it does not.

Steps to reproduce:
Start the game
Press start
Select new game / Start
Cancel the video at a raddom time with A
If it does not freeze and you get into the villa, get back to the main menu and repeat

I also tested it a few times with loading from retail disc instead of SD-Gecko, no freeze.
I guess nobody reads issues at Google Code. Since it seems to work fine from retail disc, i'd say it's not a Wii issue, more like a Swiss general issue, or maybe a sd card speed issue.

So do I but like emu_kidid said the interest isn't in the game but rather fixing the problem because there are other titles that may act the same way.

New in svn revision 47:
- Fix pre-patcher
- Update pre-patcher version
- Fix bugs in patch code
- Added fast scrolling via analog stick in file selection
- Bring up the info screen when booting a game

New in pre-patcher revision 47:
- Fixed issues when using pre-patcher r17 on later versions of swiss
- Bump up version

Download

Be sure to use the NEW pre-patcher with this version of Swiss onwards - I will add undo support to the next version of the pre-patcher, so you will have to bear with me for now

The above should fix issues with Zelda CE, and more having become broken lately.

Ok, i have:
- Wii
- PAL save from where you can test the freeze in 1 min
- 3rd party 64MB memory card
- sd gecko
- usb gecko

How can i povide the savegame the most easy way? I tried GCMM, but it seems it doesn't like my memory card, or i am doing something wrong.

Oh, and when you test this, it would be best if you also check the save date bug somebody else reported, i haven't checked it, but i assume it's there. [the code on wii that would init the date is skipped when booting GC homebrew on it]

next version will fix Zelda WW Wii as well as adding in WODE support. Also the next pre-patcher should get undo support.

Zelda WW PAL save:
http://www.mediafire.com/?v46daervnl9a9a2

And if you load the save on a wii, directly save again and exit to main menu, you should be able to reproduce the 01/01/2000 bug in the same test run. Like i said, i need to execute this:
settime(secs_to_ticks(time(NULL) - 946684800));
in NeoGamma to get the correct date.

Hey emu_kidid i have been thinking about the Wii savegame date bug. What's the best way to fix it? Inside Swiss or let the Wii Swiss Booter do it?

I guess it's really only a Wii issue, even if something similar happens on some weird GC modchip, i assume the same fix couldn't be used for it. And if Swiss was booted on a Wii via some method that involves the disc channel, both the reset bug and the savegame bug wouldn't be present. So if the Swiss Booter would fix the bug, it would be more consistent and as a side effect, you would have less work to do. What do you think?

sounds like an update for the booter! yay for bug fixes! I'm always a fan of Wiipowers work. Ever since I tried neogama and it spit out a "you are stupid" error I've been keeping up with what he releases. lol I forgot to set a hook type when trying to use the debugger on a Wii title...

Though I've also always liked work done by many of the members on this board for the modding and homebrew community.

Ok,I know this is kind of newbe question, but here we go: I have a resident evil ISO file, I tried to boot it with the latest Swiss version, but it says that file is fragmented and only get freeze in the picture with the advertisement about gore and all of those things in the game, my question is: how can I defragment an ISO file?

Thanks.

The file is split through out sections of your SD card from adding and deleting items over time.

Format your SD card then copy the image over again.

howdy emu_kidid , i have made an interesting discovery you may be interested in.

I tried Virtua_Striker_3_2002_USA_NGC-USA on one of my Wii's with SDML disc>Swiss and the game boots right up. I can select a game mode and get right into the game and play , when i scored a goal the game pops up with this message........

"An Error Has Occurred

Press The Power Button To Turn Off The Nintendo Gamecube TM

Follow The Instructions In The Instruction Booklet"

I also tried on the same Wii this process HBC>WSB0.2 and Swiss boots , i then select the Virtua_Striker_3_2002_USA_NGC-USA iso and i get a second or 2 of the game loading and then i get.

"An Error Has Occurred

Press The Power Button To Turn Off The Nintendo Gamecube TM

Follow The Instructions In The Instruction Booklet"

i used swiss-0.1-r47 for both tests........
