Put the file at the root of the SD card and name it boot.dol. Done.

Hello guys.
Latest release didn't fix the Baten Kaitos Origins bug I reported earlier.
Keep up the good work

Was this directed at me? If so, I don't think you understood the question.

Okay, so you mean to start a revision of swiss from swiss (older/newer)? Just put the second swiss in another folder and boot it from swiss by loading the 2nd swiss dol.
If that's not it, I haven't a clue what you're talking about.

I just tried r273 and I just keep getting the "reading SD card in Slot B" and it doesn't go beyond that. I've had previous version of it working such r240. I'm running off my Wii using the homebrew channel and the swiss booter. I'm not sure why it freezes.

you can try this test:
copy swiss r240 and r273 onto the SD card
insert the card into the SD slot and DO NOT TOUCH IT while performing the steps below

1. boot into r240, you should be able to read the SD card with r240...
2. browse the contents of the card and select / boot into r273

do the contents appear?

Well I tried booting r240 from the SD Gecko (I have that cheap WiiKey one). However it decided to boot the r273? I have both files in the root of the SD card, the r240 is named swiss.dol. However loading from the front SD slot of the Wii using the same SD card boots up in r240. Once it booted in r240 I was able to load into r273, however it would not get past the "Reading from SD card in slot B". I'm confused about the entire thing now.

UPDATE: I was able to run r273 but only from the front SD Slot with no SD Gecko in the system. When I tried running it with the SD Gecko in the system it just restarted the Wii. I didn't realize I had a swiss.dol in the app/Swiss/ folder earlier and that caused me to continue to the load the older version of Swiss I had. I still don't know exactly why I cannot have my SD Gecko in my system when I load up Swiss, but atleast I got it working.

Yes.

The problem is that the SD card isn't accessible in GameCube mode, so Swiss doesn't see it. Am I wrong?

You answered your own question, the front SD slot is Wii hardware. It cannot be used for Gamecube.

Any progress on Multi-DOL patching emu_kidid? I know it's not in Swiss yet, just wondering if you think it will be a difficult feature to implement.

Multi-DOL from DVD? That will be a little difficult.

Yes, issue 99 on the Google Code page. Sucks that it's a difficult one, keep up the great work on Swiss!

performed some testing with interesting results...

variables:
64GB SD card
2GB SD card
32mhz setting
16mhz setting

constants:
swiss r275
same iso on both cards
DVD compatibility mode: NO

Code: Select all

test 1:
64GB card on SD GECKO @ 32mhz
results: playback 100% compatibility as expected

Code: Select all

test 2:
2GB card on SD GECKO @ 32mhz
results: missing scenes on intro

Code: Select all

test 3:
64GB card on SD GECKO @ 16mhz
results: playback 100% compatibility as expected

Code: Select all

test 4:
2GB card on SD GECKO @ 16mhz
results: missing scenes on intro

conclusion:
SD card type will provide different results during title playback from SD Gecko
so for anyone experiencing issues with compatibility, try another SD card....a newer SD card. Newer should equal a better type that previously tested with...not an ebay 1$ special...

good luck testing

additional note: if the same 2GB SD card proven to have compatibility issues was read from WFK/WASP slot, it was successful to provide 100% compatibility from the test title, unlike the results shown from SD Gecko...I suspect this is due to the limitations of SD Gecko with certain card types.

Back again for some feedback.
As you may know, my only goal with swiss is to play baten kaitos origins on my PAL GC. The main issue is that disk 1 is recognized as disk 2.
Based on these posts,
viewtopic.php?f=25&t=1731
viewtopic.php?p=22067#p22067
I decided to make my own tests.

Working builds
Swiss r62 : Disk 1 is recognized as disk 1. Intro video lags a lot and the screen flickers. Game can be launched and played.
Swiss r94 : Disk 1 is recognized as disk 1. Intro video lags a lot and the screen flickers. Game can be launched and played. (I launched Swiss-lz.dol)

Non-working builds
Swiss r124: Disk 1 is recognized as disk 2. No intro video. Game crashes when I try to start a new game.
Swiss r174 : Same as above.
Swiss latest rev: Same result.

Is it possible to fix your latest rev to play the Cut-scenes smoothly?
Or is it a issue due to the slow SD slot?
I'll stay on r94 if it can't be fixed.

If you provide me some builds between r94 and r124, I can make more testing.
Have a nice day.

I replicated the issue here, just haven't been able to narrow it down.

So, I tried to play with r62 and r94.
The game lags like hell (I tried with a uber-fast SD card 45Mb/s and a cheap one)
Is it possible to play it lag-free?

Can swiss reach the Game Boy Player slot? I just got a EZ-Flash IV. Maybe the transfer speed is faster.

Hi. I found a issue with Super Mario Sunshine.

1. Nightly Build version: Using Swiss r276 compressed
2. Hardware: GC Pal
3. Hardware Configuration: SD Gecko
4. Boot Method: Qoob Pro
5. Info: When Mario enters the statue in the beginning it just freezes in the same spot when loading. I've tried different isos and sd cards (all good quality).
Tried different setting etc but still the same issue. I've had no problems with other compatible games.
