Hi,
I have a xenoGC modded GC. I burned the nightly build of swiss r330 ISO. I am using an SD Gecko to load ISO's from an SD Card (FAT32).
Transcend 32GB class 10 SDHC = Freezes at 100% loading
SanDisk 8GB class 10 SDHC "Extreme" = Works fine
I would like to buy a 64GB SD card. What SD cards are you guys using that are working for you?

Buying a "no name brand 128GB SDXC" sounds like a surefire way to end up with a fake.

Well since my Transcend 32GB will not work I'm looking for names and types of sd cards that have worked for other people. I tested the sd card for read/write/verify and everything was ok. Not sure why it will not load isos. Tried a sandisk micro sd card 32gb and that worked. Maybe it's just transcend cards I should avoid.

I can tell you that I've had nothing but bad luck with Transcend SD cards at least. If they aren't working in-game, can you try using "compatible" when you select the card on the device menu in Swiss? (hit X just before you select the SD card and choose the speed).

I always get Sandisk Extreme ones. They work beautifully.

I ordered 32GB one, Micro SD.Hope it works like that one for you.I've figured I may have problems with some games because my 2GB Sandisk is probably too slow to read from.

For the record, my SanDisk Ultra 128 GB works fine.

Pardon the necro post, but I was researching cards and these cards have come downin price significantly, deffinitely worth the $50-$60 for this matter.

First post (hi) Fwiw i've also had problems with a Transcend card. A class 10 16gb sdhc mk1. Got absolutely nowhere with it trying every conceivable option. Invested in a Sandisk 32gb Ultra Sdhc class 10 1 (80mbs) and that (so far) has never skipped a beat.

I had no problems with the orange Samsung Evo Miro SDXC cards at 64GB and 128GB.
Had problem with G.Skill 64gb Miro SDXC, freezes when loading.

Tested these about half a year ago, not sure how compatibility/cards have changed.

Major necro bump, but has anyone tested a 200gb SDXC with Swiss through an sd gecko? Particularly thinking about buying a 200gb Sandisk Extreme SDXC...they have dropped in price tons! Can anyone confirm these work??

If 128GB worked for me then I don't see why 200GB wouldn't.

Anyone know if there's any difference in using micro sd cards with an adapter over regular sd cards?

DO you use the same SDcard for loading swiss ( assuming Action replay way of booting ) and for games?

In my experience with Swiss, the best cards are in class 4.
I say this because I use a Skandisk 32 GB class 10.
And a 16 GB class 4 Skandisk.

At 32gb you can
Boot, run games
etc., :)
but 32 GB Class 10 crashes some games. :(
that run on the 16 GB class 4 SD.

I concluded that the FAT32 32k class 4 cluster is the best sd for the Swiss. :!:  :geek:

Your experience doesn't match our own and your conclusion is wrong.

Mileage may vary from one card to another, I'm using an handful of them, from 128MB to 64GB, any brand, and I can say the most troublesome issue is when fragmentation happens, and modern OSes are very prone to cause that, even when they don't have to.

ExFAT brought problems with the initialization. :(

in my case, the problem will be fragmentation then.
I will take the test.
if so, i will really be wrong. :?

but the custler is 32 K, at least, I didn't notice a difference to the 64 K

* defragmented test.

no exFAT The startup problem will also be fragmentation ...
*test.
let's make the bet.
Extrems sent the puzzle ...
learn from teachers. :P

* Fragmentation_ solve.
Way to format :geek:

My 64GB card is formatted to FAT32, 32kB clusters. :P

Extrems (or EmuKidid) recently said FAT32 format is the best choice for SWISS, avoid ExFAT as much as possible.

Try AOMEI to force FAT32 format for medias over 32GB.

I'm personally using exFAT on one of my cards and it's working fine. The issue is compatibility with other software.

well, I was kind of wrong ...
ExFAT will bring incompatibility for emulators and launchers.
in my opinion, use it only for games. and for bigger cards ...
ExFAT seemed to be getting faster now. almost imperceptible, optimized? ... :?:

on smaller cards, fat32 worked better for me ...
and in fact the fragments were the biggest cause of problems. :!:
