Cubelover yeah, that one should work but I'd rather not have people grabbing it from the repo direct.

Hi,
First i want to say thank you for this great piece of software, emu_kidid!
emu_kidid wrote: ...
As for a compatibility list, I suggest basing it on a list of games and then entering the status of the games in later, for instance, copy this list into a Wiki http://nintendo.wikia.com/wiki/List_of_GameCube_games :)

I'm happy to have a compatibility list setup here on gc-forever if someone can point me in the right direction of a easy to setup wiki.
I took that list and copied it into a table at liquitt's wikia page: http://gcforever.wikia.com/wiki/Test_list1 Maybe this could be an approach for the final list.

My recommendation for an easy to setup wiki is pmwiki http://pmwiki.org. I am using this since some time, it is easy to install (no need for db, only php), but flexible. ;)

Thank you. Great piece of software. It works beautifully.

I tested some games (all NTSC):
Red: unplayable. Green: Playable.

Prince of Persia Sands of Time: some screen tearing on CGs. Ingame perfect.
Prince of Persia Warrior Within: Perfect.
Zelda Twilight Princess: Perfect.
Zelda Wind Waker (with BR translation patch*): Does not boot. Shows this message on screen:
Failed assertion: JKRCompArchive.cpp:346
(mSize0fMemPart & 0x1f) ==0
*without: not tested yet
Mario Party 7: Very Good. Ingame music sometimes stops playing
Resident Evil 4: Black screen after intro movies.
Tales of Symphonia: Ingame perfect. Slowdowns during videos.
Zelda Collector's Edition: Does not load any game.
Phantasy Star Online EP 1 & 2: Black Screen. Patched with pre-patcher and runs perfectly now (intro CG hiccups).
Beyond Good & Evil: Very good, minor sound lags during some cutscenes.
Megaman X Collection: Freezes in Licenced By Nintendo screen.
Resident Evil Zero: Freezes on Warning screen.
Metroid Prime: Freezes on Nintendo screen.
Metroid Prime 2: Good. Some slowdowns on gameplay, slowdowns during cutscenes.
Billy Hatcher and the Giant Egg: Gameplay perfect. CGs with slowdowns.

Metroid Prime and Megaman X Collection are playable on sdboot.

Oh, I can't load it with sdload so I made a bootable iso from swiss: http://www.mediafire.com/?m4u44po74w0w1rj
You can use this to boot dols, no need to burn another disc in future releases just load the future swiss using this disc (kind of I put a swiss in your swiss etc :P)

There are plans for lan boot support?

I got a code dump screen when trying to reload SDML "AR version" from it's self off DVD, it works fine in SD-Boot 0.4 RC4. The older" none AR" version works with swiss though.

PAL - P.N.03: Media: DVD - Gameplay perfect.

At offset 0x80000034 there's the value for Arena High stored, right? I see in Swiss source code that you set it to 0x816FFFF0, any specific reason for that? Does it maybe not matter what you write there, or do you overwrite it somewhere else? In NeoGamma i write there 0x817e9c80, which could mean that games booted via Swiss have 935KB memory less to work with.

Help is appreciated!

Many people here have been able to get Mario Kart DD to work on both Swiss and SD-Boot. I have never been able to get it to work. The ISO I'm using boots from disc, but it just gives me a black screen from Swiss. What am I doing wrong?

The NTSC version works fine for me, but PAL doesn't :(
I have a XenoGC, a SD Media Launcher, a SD Gecko and a IcedCube case for my Nintendo Gamecube

Where's the best place to ask questions like this one:
(i assume here is wrong...)

Wind Waker PAL is black screening for me when i:
- Try to boot it with Swiss from SD-Gecko on my Wii
(Eternal Darkness does boot from SD-Gecko for me, just to be clear that it's not a SD Gecko general failing)
- Just boot MIOS with any wii homebrew. In theory this should boot any non audio streaming retail GC disc.

Wind Waker PAL retail works when i:
- Boot it with Swiss from retail disc on my Wii
- Boot it from disc channel
- Boot it with NeoGamma's GC loader

I guess these issues are somehow to connected to Swiss running on a Wii, as in both black screen screnarios, MIOS is "just" booted somewhen in the process. I tried PAL50/PAL60 in the system menu, tried 2 different sd cards, tried SD card standard formatter, FAT32 + 4KB cluser size and forcing PAL50/60 in Swiss/the loader that boots MIOS.

Assuming Wind Waker PAL works from SD Gecko when it is run on a gamecube, what's Swiss doing differently for SD Gecko and DVD loading?

Thank you for this wonderful software!

Games, that I have tested, works almost perfectly! Its Gun, True Crime: New York City, Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, Geist, Resident Evil 4.
Lord of the Rings: Return of the King is not working. Its just black screen.
All these games are NTSC-region.
Thank you!

Buy a cheap game for $4 and use it.

Also, checklist for running something from SD Card:

1. Make sure you're using 100% clean rips to boot from SD card.
1a. If they're not 100% clean, use FSTFIX and rebuild the ISO to full size.
2. Make sure you're NOT using any Datel/CodeJunkies disc in the drive.
3. Check that the file placed on the SD card is not fragmented AT ALL.

If all of these fail, post the md5 sum of your ISO file and I will take a look - only if it's a genuine file that is.

thanks for your reply ^^
With 2. Make sure you're NOT using any Datel/CodeJunkies disc in the drive. do you mean at startup or when i'm already in Swiss menu? I tried a unfragmented unshrunk PAL version of Super smash bros. melee with a Wind Waker PAL game disc, but I just get a black screen after it executes. The ISO worked fine with older versions of SD Boot.

I'm using a PAL GameCube with a SanDisk (Class 2) 2Gb SD Card and SDML.
