Force progressive mode for DOL files?

Post by Panda » Wed Aug 09, 2017 9:38 pm

Hi,

I know how to force Progressive Mode on games with Swiss (and it works great, thanks!), but is it possible to do the same thing for DOL files?

I'm thinking of ScummVM (an open-source engine for old point'n'click games), they provide a .dol file that works quite nicely on Gamecube, but unfortunately it only outputs as interlaced by default, it seems.

Can Swiss force progressive mode for it, or does ScummVM need to be patched instead?

Thank you.

You need to patch and recompile it. Swiss doesn't support this because it's pointless, as most homebrew is open source.

OK, that's understandable. I have a rough patch that forces progressive mode, I'll work with upstream to fix it in the source (in a more clever way), then.

Thank you very much for the quick reply! And thanks to everyone in the GC community for your work!
