N64 games on swiss

Post by Abel_SSBM » Mon Jan 28, 2019 12:57 am

I currently play gamecube games on my unmodded gamecube through swiss with action replay and the SD gecko. Just wondering if it's possible to play N64 games through swiss. Would you have to do anything different other than downloading the ISO? Also how would the save files work with a gamecube memory card?

Swiss itself can't play Nintendo 64 games. You need an emulator such as Cube64/Wii64 or Not64, or the one from the Master Quest/Collector's Edition discs which you can inject ROMs into.

Oh interesting. Since the emulators are noticeable slow, will the games run faster with this method?
Could you send a link for more information about this method?

Do not have much hope through injection. The number of games is small (maybe 6) and has no support for saving progress. In fact, only Star Fox 64, Super Mario 64 and Mario Kart 64 work. Star Fox suffers a little by this method. There is a stage where you will not see anything.

If you want to try, look for the version of Super Mario 64 with save support on the Internet and change the game ROM for anything else you want. Look for the GC-Tool here on this site and use it to make the modifications.
