Swiss green screen with IDE-EXE.

Post by Paul.str » Fri Mar 04, 2011 11:29 pm

I am having trouble with Swiss and my IDE EXE adapter.

When I try to play a game with Swiss off of a hard drive, I get a green screen. Swiss can read my HDD fine, but the problem comes after I try to boot. It runs through its start up procedure(Read patchable, seek patchable, etc) and then reads the DVD I have in the drive. (WW in this case).
Then, the screen goes black, flashes and turns green.

I am using a Wii. I have tried with a CMIOS and regular MIOS, booting with a copied DVD and with Swiss Booter. I have tired different games in the drive and different games on the HDD. I have tired to force the video mode.

However, it can run games off of my SD Gecko just fine. Swiss has no trouble.

Any ideas?

Does the same game work from SD-Gecko? In 90% of cases, green screen = wrong video mode. Try without component cables, without forcing the video mode.

I'm having the same problem on my GC (qoob pro), everything loads up (Read patchable, seek patchable, etc), GC reads the original dvd (Mario Kart DD-PAL), and then BAM green screen and I have to reset the GC. I'm also having other problems in Games like Ikaruga where they seem to work fine for a few seconds and then I get an error message: "An error has occurred. Turn the Power Off and check the Nintendo GameCube Instruction Booklet for further instructions."
Tried changing videomodes in Swiss and in the qoob options but it doesn't do anything... :( Using a Madcatz RGB Scart Cable (No Component Cable).

Tested it from HDD and an 8gb SDHC Card, and the results were the same. I've burnt the .iso on a dvd and it works without problems.

Only thing I can think of now is that maybe it has something to do with pre-patching, but I haven't been able to figure out how the pre-patcher works :?

Green screen = video mode issues, or a bad iso image. I would try not forcing the video mode.

The Error has occurred that you're seeing is related to audio streaming games - do not pre-patch these games.

Okay, assuming that I have bad iso images, how come they work fine on a dvd? :?
(On another note: I've always used .isos from Snesorama, are they known to have these issues?)
By not forcing the video mode you mean leave it at "auto"?
Could these issues be because I'm using a PAL original disc for NTSC games?
And the solution to the "Error has occured" thing is just to simply not prepatch them?

tell me your Console region, is it a gamecube or a Wii? What video mode is Swiss when you boot it up (should say at the bottom).
