Swiss, GC Loader - incompatible SD cards?

Hi all,

New member with an odd question. I purchased and installed a GCLoader PNP.

I tossed Swiss and an ISO on a 400GB microSD card, and I received a “can’t read game disc” error.

I tossed the same two files on a 32GB microSD card. Swiss loaded and allowed me to select a game and begin playing - worked as expected.

Tried the 400GB card again (copying the successful files directly from the 32GB card to it) with no luck.

I then removed Swiss and renamed the game ISO to “boot” on the 400GB card. The game fired right up as expected.

I’m not tech savvy at all, but that leads me to deduce that Swiss just won’t run off a 400GB microSD. But does that make any sense? Doesn’t it just treat it like an ISO and should therefore work like the game ISO did?

Any ideas at all? One thing I guess I haven’t tried is updating the GC Loader with the small card to see if it then affects the 400GB card performance.

Swiss version: v0.5r912

Thank you in advance!

Are you running the latest GC Loader firmware?

What are your settings in swiss set to (pages 3,4,5).

You reminded me. I should apply the latest firmware with the SD card that works.

I meant to. I’ll report back on that and the settings once I give it a shot!

Okay. I flashed to the new firmware. V 1.1.0.

Tried again, and no luck on the bigger SD card. I’m not entirely sure what you mean by Swiss settings, but I’ll see if I can decipher that quick.

Update: I think I got it. Not sure where I missed it, but I formatted the large SD card as “exFAT” rather than “FAT32”.

EDIT: formatting as exFAT is the thing that made it work.
