Swiss 0.2

This is the sole thread for Swiss 0.2 version(s) feedback. I usually release "stable" revisions of a particular version and users tell me what broke/etc.. this system has worked well so far.

The current "stable" revision of 0.2 is r123.. and it's available for download on the project page.

The 0.2 version revision goals:
Game compatibility (Luigis Mansion, PSO Ep3) [Achieved for most devices]
Removal of the need for a working DVD drive/disc in the drive (to work with the low patches too) [Partially achieved]
GUI to undergo progressive clean-up [Partially achieved]
Create Qoob modchip flashable BIOS version [TODO]
Streamline build process to also build a GCM (per region too) [Achieved]
Wiikey fusion support! [Achieved - for FAT32 SD]

Notable broken things as of this revision are:
IDE-EXI support is a bit iffy until I re-write some parts of it to accomodate for v1 and v2 code.

Happy xmas or summer (however it works in Australia? :))

You have done so much for the Wii Swiss community with all the people out there with newer wii's that can't/ do not want to run from gc discs!

Well,here are my first results

Working

-Everything that worked in the previous versions

Not working

-Luigi's Mansion PAL
(With High Level and Enabled/Disabled interrupts the game always freezes in the select file screen. With Low Level and Low/High Mem the game loads the file but almost always freezes in the cut-scene where Luigi enters the mansion.I restarted and rebooted the game over 20 times and only 2 times the game did not freeze in this particuliar cut-scene (with Low Level and High/Low Mem settings) and actually Luigi managed to enter the mansion. It seems the freezing occurs really randomly.I suppose that this game is really a big headache,Emu_kidid...)

-Beyond Good and Evil PAL and Skies of Arcadia PAL
(These games are 50hz only for Europe. When I turn my Wii to 576i from Wii settings menu the games run just fine.Alas, when Wii is in 480p,they are not working at all.I tried every possible setting in the Swiss menu for image display(Auto,480p,PAL50) but I had always a green screen.I guess that these games are very difficult to be patched in 480p.)

-Prince of Persia TSOT PAL and WW PAL
(The same problem again when forced to display in 480p mode.In Wii 576i they run fine but in 480p there is no signal. The only weird thing is that in PoP TSOT the game seems to start normally in 480p mode and actually displays the memory card loading screen. After that the game freezes before the Ubisoft logo.)

-Super Mario Sunshine and Wario World
(These games run fine in 576i/480i modes. But when forced to 480p,while the games run perfectly, the screen position does not display correctly. In Super Mario Sunshine it seems that the screen is down some inches.Mario's feet are not visible.I cannot imagine what causes this, but I think that perhaps this would be the most simple issue to fix.)

When I test some more games,I will write back.
Merry Christmas!!!

P.S Emu_kidid,Swiss really needs a save settings per game system. It is very difficult to remember particular settings for each game, especially with so many options available...

I have tried the following NTSC games and the results are:

Fire Emblem Path of Radiance - The game runs good but the audio for the intro and throughout the game is choppy.

Eternal Darkness - Tried all sorts of settings. It gets past the initial booting but hangs on the Dolby Digital Screen before you even get to select new/load game.

Baten Kaitos Origins - Tried all sorts of settings. It gets past the initial booting but hangs on the intro if you skip it before you even get to select new/load game.

Baten Kaitos Eternal Wings and the Lost Ocean - Tried all sorts of settings. It gets past the initial booting but hangs on the intro if you skip it before you even get to select new/load game.

If I find anything new then I will post it here.

@Emu_kidid, would it be possible to implement the coding that the Dolphin Emulator has to improve some current compatibility problems with the Swiss? That has been worked on for a longer period of time and with probably more people on the project so it makes progress easier.

@Panmusic, yes the settings problem where you got to remember it yourself is quite troublesome. However, you can just open a new word document and type the settings you think work best in there. Simples :)

@novadragon849, Swiss is not an emulator so therefore cannot implement Dolphin emulator settings

short question, does swiss support the wiikey fusion for now?

I am a little confused. Has Swiss 0.2 supported Wiikey Fusion? Or it is going to have Wiikey Fusion support?

I can confirm that Baten Kaitos PAL and Baten Kaitos Origins no longer work. Both games display the logos correctly but after that, the Press Start screen never appears.

For some good news, the Wind Waker map freeze problem seems that's gone once and for all. :-)

Anyway,it seems that the compatibility list has taken a hit.I wonder if some games in order to run properly really NEED a GC disk in the drive afterall...

I don't know what to assume... :-(

yes, you should use an original gamecube disk for best compatibility

currently not, but it is planned before the 0.3 release.
