This whole thing opens a new door!

Well, should be possible to dump the 1.0 firmware from a fresh chip (because emu_kidid already knows the flash access commands).
btw. we can also modify an existing firmware image to be a recovery image (and vice versa) or a swiss flasher image to be the recovery image.

pr0ton, you're quite right, I can actually add audio streaming support by using the wiikey fusion as a DMA capable device and using a patch on games applied by Swiss at runtime .. it won't be easy but 100% possible!! :D

infact, yeah I can dump the v1.0 firmware. I don't see the point of downgrading unless one of them fixes Luigis Mansion :)

oh, nice. is 1.0 the default on the wiikey fusions which I sent you Ashen? you mean autoboots as in, it doesn't require the toggle switch, it can always be connected?

All Wiikeys ship out with 1.0 on them, including the ones you sent me. Unfortunately I've already upgraded all of them. :/

And yes, provided v1.0 has no compatibility issues, it would eliminate the need for the switch. :)

I'll dump v1.0 tonight and try to flash from v1.5 back down to it.. I'll see how it goes!

These are the changes from the website listed as improvements from v1.1 onwards with my comments underneath each one:

Fixed bug causing DVD games to loop back to the system menu before starting
We don't have DVD Games, shouldn't affect us.
Fixed bug whereby SD cards are not properly detected
I assume this bug where SD cards aren't properly detected was on their menu software and not the firmware. Might affect SD compatibility - will need testing.
Fixed bug where the last game played from DVD show up in disc channel instead of the Wiikey Fusion menu
We don't have DVD Games, shouldn't affect us.
Fixed bug causing some DVDs not to eject when the eject button is pressed
We don't have DVD Games, shouldn't affect us.
Fixed bug causing the flash update to fail/freeze is the SW3 dip switch is accidentally in the OFF position
I assume this bug was on the flasher, I'll find out when I downgrade.
Makes some improvements to the alignment of the selection menu cursor
Who cares :)
Fixed an issue browsing an SD card for GC images, but please use WBFS manager v4.0 to add GC .iso to SD card.
I think this one is a lie, this is the point where they first added GC support to the manager/wiikey fusion ;)
This update also perfects the alignment of the selection menu cursor and includes a selection of other graphical improvements and some other minor bugfixes.
Who cares! :)
Fixed bug that causes the Mii/Photo channel to crash on some Wiis when no SD card is present.
Sounds like a change to the statemachine that returns status when there's no sd/disc inserted, we shouldn't worry.
Fixed the problem loading DVD backups.
We don't have DVD Games, shouldn't affect us.

Have sent a version to _Nold_ for him to try Swiss on his Wiikey Fusion, we'll see how he goes. I'm going to setup my Wii with a Wiikey fusion for easy plug/play to dump the v1.0 firmware.

If you don't mind me asking could you post the swiss flash file?? I wuold like to try this on my wiikey also. The more people test it the better no.

Ofcourse I understand if you'd rather wait. I have plenty of wiikey's to mess around with ;)

I know it is asking a lot and that you already have your work cut out emu_kidid but is it possible that true multi disc game support could be added some day, now that that the Wiikey runs from Swiss with FAT32?

Like how you did with the IDE-EXI instead of having to swap SD cards like you normally would with the Wiikey.

could be possible to reset the wkf and set the internal pointer to the next (disc 2) image file on the card.

That sounds promising :)

With audio streaming and if possible true multi disc game support the WKF with Swiss would be untouchable :D

He doesn't already have it... He is running a bootable Swiss 0.2r124 .iso from the Wiikey. Be patient.

You guys can try it too since there's always recovery mode method if something goes wrong:
http://gc-forever.com/flasher%20gcm.7z

You'll need the WKF switch in the "happy state" for this to work, just like anything else on the WKF needs it to be..

I'm not sure if it matters, but I've put a PAL image, I'm interested to see how it behaves on an NTSC GC (I don't think it matters as the WKF will patch it)..

Flasher works perfectly on my NTSC test cube Emu.

After flashing it works beautifully! I tested a few games quick before I have to run off to work. Most run fine, but my copy of both Twilight Princess and Wind Waker both crash with fatal exceptions when I try to run them. I think my iso's may be the problem though. I'll try dumping them myself tomorrow from my original discs.

I think there might be a fragmentation issue or sector boundary alignment issue I need to fix..

Ahh gotcha, can I just do a normal defrag on the card to try and fix the issue? I'll do a ton more testing when I have some more time. Everything I did today was kinda rushed on account of having to leave for work.

Nah that's fine, don't waste too much time on it as I've also been able to find the issue here with one of my games..
