Hi.
New to this forum but not to the Gamecube.
Im making a new case for my Gamecube (not a portable so room not a problem here) and was looking around the net for ways to make a sd adaptor.
Found couple of sites to do this.My first thought for this is to run homebrew and emulators from it.
Ive just chipped the Cube.
Not looking to run Backups cos they are generally cheap to buy via ebay etc.
Any help in a good place to look??
Thanks in advance

Just to clarify are you looking to build an adaptor for the challenge because you can get one for cheap from sites such as Dealextreme for 3.40USD shipped.

Thanks for quick replies.
It's more of a challenge thing.
I've got a clear plastic case and have stripped memory card slots out already and made memory card internal.
I'll post a pic when at home to show you.

Back home and looking via pc instead of phone and iggunr's handmade micro sd looks like my sort of thing.Ill try it cos looks straight forward enough once I carefully pick what goes to where.
Have looked at SDGeckos but they seem to be harder to get hold of and will they do anything different/better then one i make?
Thanks for the help guys.

Thinking about it, the micro sd memory make that iggunr's posted could I not solder the micro sd adapter directly to the motherboard where the memory card slots are?

Thanks for that post. Got chance to solder tonight but when I got the micro sd adapter solder on the GameCube it didn't see any memory card at all.
Any idea what I could try. I've recently put my xenogc chip on to but haven't done anything with it. Can't help but feel I've missed something.

Just to add. Is it something connected with "sense line" cos I've just solder micro sd adapter directly to point on motherboard.

Wire the mobo's sense pin to 3.3v, or else the gc won't ever see anything connected to that port.

Hi.Had a couple of goes at this now.
The second attempt being a lot clearer/cleaner soldering.
Checked everything but when I turn on the cube in the memory card screen i get a red box saying something like not a proper memory card.
any ideas what ive done wrong now.

Its not a memcard. It will always say in the IPL that the card inserted is unuseable.

I knew that it couldn't be used as memory card but want to use it for home brew/ emulators.
Thought it would show up as normal card.
So once I get emulator loaded on card correctly it should just start up from there?
Sorry for sounding thick but 1st time played with sd cards in cubes.

No, you must first boot swiss or some other program like SD load, and then you'll be able to launch the application.

Just burn swiss on a DVD, then select the slot your SD card is in and run the program.
I'm sure there are tutorials in here.

edit: This could probably come in handy for that.
