Ide-exi vs Wiikey Fusion

Post by BuckoA51 » Fri May 10, 2013 3:16 pm

Hi, I was just wondering which of these two solutions people thought was better (assuming that you could obtain either one). I don't see the IDE-Exi in the table here http://www.gc-forever.com/wiki/index.ph ... ng_Backups - Does it run better than the SDGecko or about the same? Thanks.

IDE-EXI tends to be like SD Gecko. I recommend WODE or WKF. I'm using WODE without any additional disc drive. I will soon tryout WKF

Thank you. If I'm reading the Wiki correctly I cannot connect a Wiikey fusion and the original Gamecube DVD drive at once, is that right?

If you wire a WKF/Wode to the bottom of the DVD port to be able to connect the DVD drive to the original port, the signals will conflict.

Your options to use WKF/Wode and DVD drive at the same time:
1. Remove the original DVD port. Wire the WKF/Wode "host side" to the mainboard. Wire the DVD drive to the WKF/Wode "DVD side"

or

2. Remove the original DVD port and install a MEGAdrive kit

If/when IDE-EXI gets the proper support I've been meaning to implement, it will surpass Wiikey Fusion (flawless backups from HDD)
