MegaCube - worklog
So after finding a broken panasonic gamecube I decided to do a complete rebuild with all of the extra features available. Name is inspired by the one and only megalomaniac as I will be using allot of his custom made adapters.
This is not a portable. I will use the panasonic cube case and build in the following:
- modded wii drive
- megadrive discdrive adapter
- megalomaniac's component, vga and digital audio adapter
- wode modchip with lcd
- built-in hdd
- built-in power adapter
- built-in gba player
- built-in sd gecko
- built-in wavebird controller reciever
- and some other nifty features which will be added along the way
This is just a little project for myself and will be updates whenever i feel like it

Re: MegaCube - worklog
so will you be using the Panasonic Qs board or will it be a fresh cubes? (in fact do the Cube and Q use the same disc drive interface?)
Re: MegaCube - worklog
Wait....is this adapter something new? Or does it use the gamecube official component cable? Sorry I'm new to all this.LOCtronics wrote:So after finding a broken panasonic gamecube I decided to do a complete rebuild with all of the extra features available. Re: MegaCube - worklog
The panasonic cube uses a regular gc board but a different disc interface. I'm not using anything of the original parts as most of it is not working. Also the slotloading discdrive is very bulky. Going with the wii drive will make things easier. I will also be using a older style wiidrive which wil be modded to read backup dvd's.
The adapter is like the original component cable but then a modified board which megalomanic created himself. Has more options As for the gba player it doesn't fit underneath the panasonic cube because it has legs sticking out the bottom. That is why I will internalize it. I maybe not add it if it's not worth the extra work.
I'll post some pics in a couple of days.

Re: MegaCube - worklog
Oh crazy, so the panasonic version you can't plug in the gb player? *looks at pictures*, nope, plastic on the bottom. Does it have the expansion port on that pcb?
So it seems megalomaniac uses the chips found on the official gc component cords. Darn, I was hoping for a fpga solution, oh well.
