GCp Questions?

Hi im currently making a gamecube portable. this is my first portable and i have pretty much everything figured out but just a couple of questions.i have decided to use the DD because i like it and dont really want to get into the wiikey stuff just yet like i said this is my first portable and i just want to keep it simple.

1:i want to wire in a internal controller but also have all 4 original ports wired in if i wanted to play with friends. How would i wire in the switch to let me choose to use internal controller or external ports?

2:Should i use batteries or just run it off a plug?

3:What is the best way to relocate the DD?

if you could answer any of these it would be very helpful also if anyone has a detailed tutorial on wiring an internal controller that would help to thanks.
