WIP Gamecube All in One

Okay this is my first Gamecube mod so I'll see how badly I kill the machine. My goal is to build a gamecube with integrated wavebird recievers, gameboy player, 5" TFT monitor, 1 cell 3.7 volt 5000 mah LiPo battery. And use a WIIKey Fusion. So far I have done a medium cut on the mobo and managed to not kill it, I will update this with pics as I go along. And I'm sure I will be asking you guys for plenty of help.

Made some progress. now have wavebird wired in mem card hardwired. and found a vga heatsink and fan that so far are keeping things cool.

Is it just me or the CPU and RAM don't have cooling ?

yeah, you'd want to cool the CPU and RAM for sure!

I do have a fan on the CPU now not in the picture though. How hot does the ram get? Would passive cooling work? Or do they need a fan also?

use the heatsink + fan
...and post some larger pics if possible...

I can't get it to upload from my tablet for some reason, I will take more in a little while. Also I think I might have already screwd up part of my project. Do any of you know if the are alternate solder points for the high speed port since I cut mine off?

Here's a Higher Res pic. I will take more soon as I can. Thanks for the advice guys.

A few more high res. My solder skills are terrible so go easy on me. But any advice is much appreciated.

RAM can have passive cooling, that's fine.

Okay I think I'm going to invest in a laser thermometer. What is a decent temp for the cpu gpu and ram to run at? I think I might just go back to a modified stock heat sink or find and IBM one. I don't think these have the surface area they need to keep up.

IMO, you should invest in a laser multimeter, it won't be easy to find a hole for a thermometer...

Well, there is one advantage to have a unibody heatsink : heat spreading. With a bigger heatsink your components will dump their heat into it and it will help balance the temperature. So for example if the CPU is pretty hot but the GPU is nice and cool, part of the heat will go into the GPU before it's dissipated. This also help because silicon has an optimal working range that is higher than ambient temperature.

Thanks. I'm not sure about trimming I killed my first one. And this is the one without a separate power regulator. So I don't know how to power it if I cut it.
