I believe everything is on the wiki. But really, all you need to do it cut off the connector and add you own cinch ends. The colors are the same (d-terminal carries component, only the connector is different).

Or you can get an adapter like this
http://solarisjapan.com/products/d-term ... ble-female
that way you won't risk or alter your (ridiculously expensive) cable :D

Find an adapter. It's not worth damaging a cable like this by soldering.

I changed it by soldering, but you'd want to use a "box" on the end of the cable to have the one cable go in and then have 3 come out, or some sort of thick cable shrink tube to bind the 3 cables to the one thicker cable.

The actual modification inside the connector pcb is about 2 seconds work, just remove that tacked on resistor from the MX chip and make the pin contact the board again.

I did the same conversion some time ago: viewtopic.php?f=26&t=1415

That link is broken, Keropi.

apparently you can't link search results that have the "&amp" extra in the link... post fixed

Thank you keropi that's what I needed some pics of what ill be doing. The 3 wires for hv and pin 20 what do you connect them to just ground I'm confused I get the blue, red, and green just connect them to blue, red, and green on the replacement cable but please explain the other 3 wires?

^ ignore the 3 wires completely.
just connect the R G B rcas and use the shielding of each cable as GND .
tack the 3 wires away in case you need them in the future, they can be used for VGA output as extra lines that are needed

edit:
connect the 3 rcas like this:

Thank you very much I get it now. One more thing emu-kidd told me that on the pcb of the cable there is a pin do I have to lift that pin or solder it back down?

I believe he means the lower-right pin on the MX chip , it should look like this:

it should be soldered in it's place, not lifted and not through a resistor. match the pic above and you'll get it working as a component cable

Thank you for your support I will be getting to this project as soon as it comes in the mail should be next week

everything on the D-terminal internals are ready to use for component...
no pin lifting, no resistor...just change the D connector to component plugs or use that adapter...

i would advise to use that adapter!!!
dont open the cable, its a fucking bitch to properly close because of the metal shielding...

when you find a second cable, then you can tear it open....but not your one and only...

To be honest everything is a fucking bitch jtaging xboxs, downgrading ps3's, building customs gamecubes, and now since 5 ide-exi came in today for me to sample now I'm finding out how hard it is to solder the IC chip on the ide-exi. So this should be a walk in the park right?

^ well, if your cable was a d-terminal one and not modified in any way then all you need to do is solder the RCAs or use a d-terminal->component adapter , no need to open the plug - just like megalomaniac said.
In my case the cable was part of a fail-mod, it was already cut and some crappy scart connector was semi-soldered to it... really it was a no brainer to just solder RCAs... :)
