first portable gamecube
Hello gc-forever community.
This is my fist attempt at a portable. It took me about 6 months to complete, most of which was research and waiting
for stuff that i ordered to arrive. I could have finished sooner but i had to learn to use a soldering iron.
Most everything was cut by hand, which may or may not be obvious...i think i did good.
I went through 2 motherboards. One was a rev c that i killed by connecting 5v to 12v line in an attemp to fix audio issues.
The other was giving me all sorts of problems so i got rid of it.
Even though it's a zn-45, it was not easy getting this thing closed.
specs:
3.5in ebay screen
official gamecube controller, slightly cut, no rumble
rev a/b motherboard, golden border cut to make room for sd slot
custom regulators, not sure if i needed them but there there
4x Panasonic 3400mAh batteries wired for 7.4v
low battery indicator, not sure when it comes on...
wasp fusion & megadrive v3
sd gecko, it actually doesn't work, it's just an sd card holder
memory card slot A
a/v out
controller port for external p1 and switch
second controller port for player 2,3 & 4
fan speed switch
on/off switches for fans
headphone jack
charging jack
stock heatsink
It's still Halloween where I am so...happy halloween

Looks great man. Some of the cuts could have been a bit cleaner, but for a first its great work. Nice job man! Love the vent holes.

Thank you very much.
Those vent holes took forever to do but the end result was better than I expected.

Re: first portable gamecube
I went with both the short press and hard press on the L & R triggers using the normal sliding potentiometers. same setup as the original controller
It was a must for super mario sunshine. I just mounted them to the wall of the case. They work fine.

Re: first portable gamecube
Thing is the bug on your mc looks like a termite, which is pretty funny next to those scratched holes.
