Hello all,
A while ago i lost my Game Cube... But was still able to find the controlers, cables and Power supply... Just not the cube its self. I had moded it with a Xeno. It worked well... Never had issues.
I picked up a JP Cube cheap.. and wanted to convert it to Eng PAL.
1. I tested it with a JP game... All works. So started working on it. I added the extra jumper in "R6" to convert it from JP to English menus.
2. Added a Xeno chip to dvd drive.
3. Xeno starts red led.. then changes to the yellow led.. so i presume thats correct.
4. Assembled it all back together..
Now this is were i need HELP...
Will play JP games fine.
Will show menus in english.
Will NOT play a genuine pressed PAL dvd game.
will NOT play a PAL game copy dvd.
(Xeno still goes from red to yellow for both games)
Now what did i do wrong? Was i not meant to change the R6 jumper onboard?? OR was i meant to REMOVE R5 instead of just adding R6??
OR can i not ever play a pal game on a JP Cube??
Thanks.
D.
Need help JP GC to ENG PAL conversion?
Re: Need help JP GC to ENG PAL conversion?
Xeno led is independent from the game, it just means the drive was successfully patched. Xeno does region free, the resistor you added makes the cube nstc-u but it shouldn't matter.
Re: Need help JP GC to ENG PAL conversion?
Any idea why i can't get PAL games working??
Is there a PAL setting for the jumpers i moved? I need to try and find were the jumpers are in a PAL game cube!

Re: Need help JP GC to ENG PAL conversion?
No you can't convert an ntsc cube to pal nor pal to ntsc. Jap and US cubes are the same except for that resistor, pal has a different video system. But pal games should run fine with the xeno. Try burning an ntsc iso of swiss and booting your games from there.
Re: Need help JP GC to ENG PAL conversion?
Bugger... well better get a PAL unit and just swap the DVD assembly over... as it already has a Xeno chip installed.
Thanks for all your help.

Does your TV support 50hz?
NTSC cubes output 50hz when a game requests it, capable TVs should get a stable black and white image (component cable fixes the color issue).
