DVD port connector pinout's

Post by andre104623 » Sat Jun 13, 2015 4:46 pm

I removed a male DVD port connector from a DVD board. I have a few ideas for what I want to do with it but I need the pinout's before I do anything yet.

Image

As written on the drive board. Also I think the connector is symmetric.
Edit : woops I accidentally mirrored it. Fixed.

By the way, isn't there a way to set the image width in bbcode ? It's kind of annoying.

I'm not sure yet but I was going to try have a WASP and DVD together without a megadrive v4. But really it's all up in my head still and I won't get to it till the fall or later. I have a lot of other things on my todo list

So, it IS possible to have Wasp and DVD togheter without a megadrive v4....
I's like to try that, as I've been doing a similar mod for my Dreamcast, the difference being that I'm installing a HDD on the DC.

Is there any guide to do this mod on the GC without the Megadrive V4?

Oh yeah its possible. People have done it before like way before the megadrive v4 BUT I don't like messes of wires ( Known as wireporn ) so I really need to give this project some thought. Maybe need to design my own PCB to house the connector which if I do it will be the first time I design a PCB.

Thankfully it's not really hard. I designed a simple pcb for the first time in about an afternoon. If you're going to connect to a GC board you'll need to create your own footprints though (I was lucky enough to use only components that were already available in eagle's database).

Oh, I see.
I didn't know people had done it before. I'm really new to the Cube scene, and 100 dollars for an simple adapter is just too much for me...
(that's like 600 bucks here in my country, belive it or not)

I too, don't like the "wire porn" but oh well... not much else I can do. hahaha

I'd like something like a diagram, where each pin should go, and if it was not that impossible, I'd surely give it a try hahaha.
Not sure if my DOL-002 would be compatible with this though.
Gonna ask Megalomaniac once the board I sent him arrives. =)
