What about serial numbers? Would it be possible to estimate the IPL by it ?

For instance, I got a DOL-001 with SN: DS105818746 and Swiss tells me it's IPL 1.0, so I'm guessing anything before that would be IPL 1.0 as well.

What do you guys think ?

well my serial # is ds304594045 and im have issues but its not to say that i have an ipl 1.0 also just for clarification , in the guide there is a picture of a gamecubes mother board with numbers on the pins. the number refers to the pin on the wiikey fusion and where it is on the motherboard it where i should solder the wire to right?

Yes, there are 2 diagrams though. One for the top of the board and one for the bottom. Make sure you use the right one.

Guys, I crashed a Wiikey Fusion during an firmware upgrade. I need the "Wiikey Fusion Recovery Image v1.2", but I couldn't download it because my Wiikey is a clone and I haven't a serial number. Could someone download it and send me???

Thank you so much.

The 1.5 update file on wiikeyfusionmod.com was 1:1 identical to the original site. Try the 1.2 Recovery Image from wiikeyfusionmod.com

i still cant get the gamecube to work. i have changed gamecubes so now i have a dol 101 cpu 50. i went through with a dmm and checked all of the pins and they are connected. i re checked the wii key on my wii again and it still works. now the gamecube stays on for a few seconds and then gives me an error message as if there was no disk drive. the wiikey does still flash red when i turn on the gamecube. again just for clarification all i have to do is connect the wiikey fusion to the gamecube motherboard by matching the pins as in the pic. pin 23 has a normaly closed switch. and then between pin 29 and ground i should have another normally closed switch. and 3.3v on pin 32. and thats all. ive already upgraded to 1.5 and there is an sd card inside. im really at a loss here.

Guys, finally I had a sucessful instalation. The problem was the Gamecube's motherboard. I don't know why, but it doesn't matter anymore. Thank you so much for your help.

So, I have a last doubt. I crashed a Wiikey Fusion during an firmware upgrade. I already downloaded the "Wiikey Fusion Recovery Image v1.2" from wiikeyfusionmod.com and already prepared the SD card. Lastly, I want to know if this recovery must be used on Wii or it can be used on Gamecube also???

Thank you again for all you help.

What does it mean when the light on the wiikey stays on and red when the eject switch is pressed? Also I don't have 3.3 volts or 1.9 volts going to the wiikey cause when I do the gamecube shuts down. I have the board with the power regulators on the main board.

Disclaimer:
I have no idea about wiikey stuff.

But if something powers down when you try to connect voltage related stuff, probably means that you've shorted something somewhere.

Does PAL games works on NTSC/USA Gamecubes with Wiikey Fusion installed???

I tried Luigi's Mansion PAL on my DOL-101 NTSC/USA Gamecube but it works black & white and 50 Hz.

Is there something that allows me to play PAL Games on my NTSC/USA GC???

Thank you so much.

ive finally got my gamecube to work. what i had to do was use two double A batteries to supply power to the wii key fusion instead of taking it from the gamecube cause if i did it wouldnt turn on.

I don't think you'll find stable results with a setup like that :P

Just wanted to comment that I found this really cheap adaptor in dealextreme:

Anyways, I thought it might be useful for those of us who tried and failed miserably performing Ashen's tutorial.

I had bought a similar adapter but if you look really closely you'll see that some pins are not connected to the FFC connector so you'll end up still needing to wire a couple direct.

Darn... Already bought it.
Guess I'll have to perfect my soldering skills after all.

You'll likely need to solder 2 wires to the ffc connector, if you use common ground.

yeah, as infact said, it's not that bad. you might get lucky and those 2 lines end up going to something bigger to solder onto such as a resistor or whatever.
