USBGecko via Serial port 2 possible?

Post by capzlk » Fri Dec 25, 2015 2:07 pm

I was just looking at the pins for the memory card and serial port 2 and it occurred to me that it might be possible to have an usbgecko interface with the cube via that port, similar to the official usb port accessory on TDEVs.

I was wondering if swiss would support such a thing (the official one also requires a boot disc), and if not, whether or not it would be hard to add this functionality.

I'd love to keep my memory card ports available, and somehow the idea of something using serial port 2 excites me. Anyone?

Yes, there's plans for this as it would help many people quite a bit. libOGC would require a small patch to allow the SP2 port channel to be used and then support would be added to Swiss.
