New Gamecube Controllers

Post by namesbond » Thu Jun 21, 2018 1:56 pm

Is anyone else excited about Nintendo releasing new Gamecube Controllers or Smash Ultimate? I have 4 white ones from the Wii U release and am excited to get some new Black ones at retail price. I tried modifying the triggers to be the same as the original controllers but I honestly don't notice a difference.

New Gamecube controllers? Haven't heard any news about that.

Smash Ultimate is going to be compatible with GC controllers, and it's almost certain that they're going to spin production up again for it.

You can currently preorder them on Amazon and Best Buy. Amazon has a limit of 1 per person and Best Buy has a limit of three per person. https://www.amazon.com/Super-Smash-Bros ... controller

Seems like there is no difference to a normal gamecube controller or the smash controller from the wii u game except the logo.

The Wii U ones felt slightly lighter to me (smaller/revised PCB?). Time to get another 4 to stock up for the next 20 years :P

Now we just need Nintendo to redo the gamecube pcb with more powerful hardware while keeping compatibility (and probably fixed against spectre and meltdown). *keeps dreaming*

The Wii U ones had slightly longer cords too. So these probably will.
