Re: DVD+R
I never heard of anyone having luck with +R. -R is the way to go.

Re: DVD+R
Thing is I don't have any DVD-R mini's discs anymore only some crap waffer thin MCC-003-00 DVD+R's by CompuPalPro, I tried a full 4.7GB DVD-R but it only ran once it was burnt at 6x, I'll try 4x see if makes any difference seems the laser is rather picky about burn speed and disc quality and mini dvd's always run better even the cheapo dvd-r's.
Re: DVD+R
kevstah2004, you must burn the .iso/.cue files as a data disc, not as a single image. .cue do not work from DVD, so launch the .bin or .iso files/etc directly.

Re: DVD+R
Thanks I figured it out myself after a while does that mean you can store multiple games on the same disc as it just sees it as another location? I did one as I said with a full 4.7GB DVD-R but I only managed to get it run once must been a bad burn or something it didn't run any better than from sd card though video was still stuttery as hell, I thought they'd be an advantage with the extra read speed but alas I guess the gamecube emulator is bottlenecked someway. But the mdec decoder seems somewhat broken anyway as I reported here http://code.google.com/p/pcsxgc/issues/detail?id=127#c1emu_kidid wrote:kevstah2004, you must burn the .iso/.cue files as a data disc, not as a single image. .cue do not work from DVD, so launch the .bin or .iso files/etc directly.
When it reads from SD is set the same as SD-Boot with the 16/32Mhz options? or is only 16mhz?
Also can region detection be changed to read the information from actual exe header rather than detecting it off the system.cnf exe name SCES, SCUS, SLED, SCED etc as PAL homebrew is wrongly detected as NTSC.
It could also be detected off the sony license information if using images.

Re: DVD+R
To answer your original question, both the Gamecube and Wii will read DVD+R only if you bitset them to DVD-ROM. So you need a burner that supports bitsetting.

Re: DVD+R
It doesn't by default but i've heard flashing it to 112L will or using MediaCodeSpeedEdit, atm it's flashed with 1.15 for region free i'm a bit dubious flashing it again as I don't wanna brick it.
