Gamecube Memory Cards question

Post by s8n187 » Wed Sep 29, 2010 4:27 pm

hi GC scene and emu_kidid , i am buzzing about Gamecube Memory Cards.........i think i read somewhere that you cant Save Game Data from different Regions

ie........1 M/Card = 1 Region , if you save say a games progress and that game is JAP Region you cant save a different game being from US or PAL .......is this true ?

any info kicks

not sure if that's entirely true, had two Pikmin 2 saves one PAL and other one NTSC(US) on the same memory card. they look identical in the memory card manager, they only way i could differentiate between the two is when i look at the date last saved...
however, it could depend on the game.
might be worth noting that there is a program that can convert saves from one region to another. i have used myself and never had any troubles.

you can have PAL & NTSC, but not JAP + anything else otherwise it will wipe your saves.

A Gamecube Memory card is really just a sd card with covering over it. ( I looked this up on the internet.) if u take the case off its a regular sd card, just able to fit in a gamecube memory card slot.

mikeog, no, you're quite wrong, a memory card is a memory card.. however people have used them to create SD Gecko's because they utilize the connectors from them.

What are the differences between memory card and SDgecko?
The communication protocol? Inside an SD there is a controller and not inside a memory card?

It is possible for a PC to read a memory card?
