Problems with backupgames :(
Hi @ all^^
I have a question about the playing of gamebackups, ich have bought the SD Media Launcher last week and downloaded the SD-Boot 0.4 directly but i have problems with playing the backups... an example: In Mario Party 7 after every round or every second round a disc read error appears. In Luigis Mansion is it the same and Metroid Prime 2 doesn't start at all. I've tested it with SD-Boot 0.4 and 0.3 but it doesn't make any sense.
Yesterday I had opened the gc and adjusted the Potentiometer at 150 Ohm the burned GC Backups (Platinum mini DVD-R) started but after time they have also DRE's too (only Super Mario Sunshine and Zelda 4 Swords Adventures work for longer time).
Have I made any mistakes or are my Images bad...
Can I do anything to make the GC playing the games correctly...

Snake10000
PS: If it is of interest ive got an PAL Gamecube with an 06 Drive and have tested the Mini DVD's with Gcos 1.5
Sorry for my bad english i'm german ;D

That's one opinion i've thinked of too, but why have the games on my sd card the almost same errors ...
Re: Problems with backupgames :(
Maybe is a compatibility problem, for example when I play ikaruga a DRE appears every time, for the dvd games try using another bios like gcom 2.4, because when i play in ikaruga from dvd appears the same DRE like if were playing from sd but with gcom 2.4 I can play normally

Re: Problems with backupgames :(
sorry I'm new on this ground, is gcom 2.4 an Bios like GCOS 1.5?
Is it startable under SD Media Launcher because i think without modchip there are not many opinions to play backupgames ^^

Re: Problems with backupgames :(
Yes, is a .dol file like gcos 1.5 but more simple, maybe could be a problem of compatibility using SD Media Launcher for backups with sdboot, I use a ntsc gamecube with chip xeno to load sdload in dvd and wiikey sd adapter to load .dol files
Re: Problems with backupgames :(
That's definitely the issue with sd-boot. it needs a proper GC Game disk in the drive to work.

Re: Problems with backupgames :(
the SD Media Launcher DVD is not a valid DVD in the sense of a Gamecube DVD. It purposely has "bad sectors" to make dumping the disc difficult, also, it is actually harder for the Gamecube to read this disc, so I would recommend against it.

ok I understand, could using a original gamecube game (like Mario Tennis) fix my gcos problem too, because gcos is reading the sectors for swapping too... if i unterstand you rightly?emu_kidid wrote:the SD Media Launcher DVD is not a valid DVD in the sense of a Gamecube DVD. Nope - it wouldn't matter for GCOS. GCOS I'd use better DVD-r.

Ok,
I would test the gcom2.4
but how can i make the dolfile with the "gcom24config.exe" i dont understand how i can it on pc, do i need a broadband adapter for gc?
Edit: 0k got it, Xp couldn't write the dol but vista worked fine
but my next problem is, the gcom2.4 stopped discspinning after the Regionselection, and the screen on the tv is black
