GBI Speedrunning edition for speedrunning

Hi everyone! I am looking to speedrun various Pokemon games on the game boy player hardware (both original GB and GBA). I thought about using the GBI speedrun software, because of the better image quality and lower input lag. However, I read that the refresh rate of the speedrunning edition of GBI was lowered to be more accurate to an original GB/GBA. Wouldn't this mean that games effectively run slower? Although I would personally prefer accuracy, many runners use the original GBP software (which should run faster), and I would hate to be at a disadvantage because of that.

If this is the case, what's the refresh rate of the high fidelity edition? I could not find the information on this. If the speedrun GBI software does indeed run slower, the high fidelity GBI software seems like the next best choice. Thanks in advance for your help!

The GameCube's refresh rate has no effect on the Game Boy Player. No edition has a specific refresh rate, it's dependent on settings.
