My cubes are kinda boring.

And the spicy one only boots DVDs, no Freeloader or ARs for it.

Is that a SNES top half on a Hori GB Player controller?

Add the proper snes controller back to it haha, that's pretty cool though.

Cant imagine a way for you to match a hori pad to your spicy cube though hrmmmm....

Very clean looking GameCube, nice to see :) I'm too used to buying battered and sun bathed NTSC-J consoles lately since they're the only ones I can find at a sane price, it's been a while since I've seen such a clean Indigo GameCube!

P.S. I believe you meant 10 years too late ;)

i meant i'm late 2 years because the last post before mine was in 2018. but i agree with you, 10 years late makes a lot more sense. lol

i had a really nice platinum cube, mint condition, unmodded, cib. so nice that i didn't have the courage to mod it. so i sold it for a good price here in brazil and bought this indigo cube for much cheaper, before the current pandemic prices.

it was dirty, had dead internal battery, the controller had loose analog sticks. but nothing that a magic sponge, retrobrite, some mods and restoration couldn't fix.

glad to know it looks good, thanks!

Being in Brazil, are these DOL-002's? Do you know if Brazil had any other variants?

nope, my silver one was USA, my indigo is JAP.

afaik, the first batch sold in brazil by Gradiente was imported and actually DOL-001's. that's what i've been told, but i could never check if that's a fact or fiction. all the following ones were produced/assembled by Gradiente were named DOL-002's.

as i'm not a collector and actually new to the gc scene -- i purchased my first one in jan 2020 -- i tried to avoid those because an eon gchd mkii seller told me it was not 100% compatible due to the different brazilian bios. so i didn't want to risk my money to know if he was right or not. ;)

Post-launch titles crash when switching to progressive scan mode on a PAL-M system, but Swiss fixes that.

GCVideo-DVI also struggles with PAL-M. Before it was off-center, now you have to turn off fix resolution to get anything.

thanks for the information, extrems!

glad to know i did the right thing by believing in the seller! :D

You may have found here someone that would have been glad to trade one for an NTSC, either for the sake of collection completeness or technical documentation.

Extrems> It would be nice to see a Dol-002 dedicated thread, to debunk some interrogations, such weirdness in having a console that only plays NTSC games and only outputs in PAL-60 (which is quite off-standard).
Finding a TV to accept that may have been quite a quest on its own. :? Did they have the RF adaptors too?

NTSC systems are equally able to output PAL-M.

in Brazil, only consoles were manufactured
dol 002 by the gradient.
blue, and black later, black being the rarest.
every Gamecube gradient has SP2, and digital input component.
Every dol 002 BR!
The sources are 110-220, bivolt.
the gamecubes that were dispatched by the gradient are rarer in Brazil, than the 001 USA.
ironically, the Brazilian national NGC was 25% more expensive than the imported one.

My very first GameCube :)

Japanese DOL-001, but using a UK 220V power supply to avoid using a stepdown transformer.

Diego borella, those are some pretty beat up looking GameCube consoles, but luckily the GameCube can take a beating.

Did you try the SP2 hardwiring on the Dol-101? :)

well, I’m always revitalizing my game cubes.
as thermal cushions I use the Play2 cushions, which incidentally fit very well.
video games are very badly treated inside, but we don't have many resources, so use what you have ...
the important thing is the perfect functioning.

as for the welding points of the SP2 in 101, I tried to do it, but I confess that it is very risky.
I want to get a soldering iron with a much thinner tip for this job. the dots are tiny!
