Hello.

Post by Gakman » Thu Jun 26, 2014 1:33 pm

Hello!
I'm Gakman, from France (so, please excuse my english).
To introduce myself quickly, I'm video games lover! :D I've a lot of systems and games, but not to collect. Each game has been bought to play, and the most bought new at their launch, all starting with a NES. I keep all my games, and with years the number has grown...
My favourite type is arcade-style games. I own some arcade cabinets, too. I like the quick action and fun with friends, even of they have never played the game.
That's where I'll speak about my lovely GameCubes. I've got 4 GameCubes with 4 Mario Kart Double Dash (and 4 BBA and 4 TV)... :D What amazing game to party play (8 karts, each coop possible)! LAN modes is lacking in newer Mario Kart games. But that's clearly not the only game, I spend so much hours on the little GameCube.

Welcome, Mario Kart LAN is quite a lot of fun, I've experienced it too with 8 players only though :)

Mario Kart 8 on the WiiU has online play, which can be restricted to your friends list. That should be about the same as LAN play I think. It has a good controller too.

You just need to have the consoles in the same room yeah, then it should be the same.

I don't like online gaming, I prefer to shout directly on my friend when he kick me with a red shell! ;)

The same goes for mario kart wii - even though it was online play, it could recognize when machines were on the same LAN and use direct packets.

But it does not work anymore, since the servers are offline. Mario Kart DD wins this match :D

There are several third-party homebrew servers available.
