HELLO! My name is Brian. SWIM = "someone I met"

SWIM bought a gamecube so he could get back into playing video games from his childhood. Be found an ad on Craigslist. SWIM was going to just buy a regular GameCube. But one had real pretty lights in the controller slots. SWIM ended up buying one that had a "mod chip" for 60 dollars. SWIM doesn't really know what it's all about. SWIM loves the pretty led lights bit doesn't know what disk came in the systems. It's loads up something called "Swiss 0.3". SWIM also noticed something unusual in the bottom of serial port one. Take a look and explain to me what I got and any links on how to use it. SWIM found a website with backup ISOs of games he has purchased and owns. Bit HOW?

Welcome, so are you saying when the console is turned on it boots to Swiss without a disc in the drive?

SWIM says that it only boots to swiss when the burned mini dvd is in the drive. SWIM is wondering what to do with swiss. How to use it and such.

Is it actually this difficult to write someone i know?

Besides that: Well, does the gamecube play original game discs? If yes, no, the person wasn't really ripped of for me. This person has now a cube which can do more than a normal one does. And if the person likes the lights on the cube, it adds to the value, doesn't it?

I don't know, I'd be pissed if my Serial Port 1 was left unusable like that.

If one would like to use a network adapter or modem maybe. But for any other normal person wanting to play some games .. dunno. Couldn't you just remove the sd from that position and queeze it into serial port 2?

well apart from that awful soldering/modding job, he got a gamecube that loads swiss - so that's a plus.
go ahead and test if it still plays originals.

If it were an NTSC-J with a switch would say it would maybe be worth 60. At least that's a little more unique. The crappy install and dust in the side ports looks like someone just didn't care. So I would say over paid not ripped off.

NTSC-J switch is obsolete with Swiss.

While you are correct there is some odd satisfaction as an American collector to see Japanese writing on the bottom of my GC. Just my 2 cents.

You can still use Swiss on an NTSC-J console.
