How im just wondering how close are Nintendos last 3 Consoles in Architecture and can vWii kind of take advantage of WiiU features like RAM , CPU Speed.

I believe the WiiU was really let down not by Hardware but by Nintendo NINTENDONT was Amazing 8-). But how exactly does it work when it is not "theoretically" Emulation Note my long word :geek:

vWii is just emulation.
Emulation = Reproduction of the function or action of a different computer, software system, etc.
The original Wii would limit it's cores to be a functional GameCube thus it would emulate via hardware but the vWii is just software emulation.

ahh SOFTWARE EMULATION im thinking of Hardware hence WiiU already has a Wii and WiiU GPU in a world of my own overthinking lol.

So would it be possible to port things from one Console to the other due to similarities , I mean because they somewhat similar it would be easier than porting to x86 since it different.

GC.Wii.WiiU.XBOX360 360 being the more powerful CPU?

vWii is not emulation, it's a compatibility mode. The Wii U includes all of the original Wii hardware necessary to run Wii software. Just like the Wii supported GC games. And just like modern x86_64 computers are still compatible with old i386 software (at least on paper).
To answer your question, yes, it is possible to unlock some extra features of the Wii U in the Wii VC, and some homebrew such as Wii64 can take advantage of it.

A compatibility mode is a software mechanism in which a software either emulates an older version of software, or mimics another operating system in order to allow older or incompatible software or files to remain compatible with the computer's newer hardware or software.

It's Emulation

Except it's not a software mechanism. Some parts are truly emulated, like the video interface.

I think mechanism in this way is referring to the definition - Established process by which something takes place.

Either way that was the true definition for compatibility mode.

It's not more of an emulator than Wine is.

Wine.. The windows emulator for Linux?
You saying it's not emulation because they both use a PC?

Wine isn't exactly the best example, since it's a reimplementation of the Windows API. vWii is a literal port of the Wii's operating system to the U, accounting for the minor differences. If you play a Windows 7 era game on a brand new PC with updated drivers, is it emulation?

Technically since you have to set a compatibility mode unless said game is still updated making it modern.

You can also install Windows 7 on the same machine. Because the hardware is compatible by design.

Can also install MacOS and Linux.
The point is it's possible to port one systems games to another using some sort of compiler but it would be easier to use a virtual machine.
So yes Core316 it is possible to port an older systems games to a newer system and between console Generations, it's just a lot of work

Well I was thinking along the lines of what your talking about StreetWalker. But then boredomca said it "Software Emulation" = Compatability Layer is it not? When you hear /see the word Emulation you automatically think CPU GPU Architecure Pipeline of what your emulating "Hardware Emulation" atleast that what I was thinking im just carried away overthinking lol but atleast I got others to think and have a friendly debate lol.

It's a whole debate but it's definitely not a traditional emulator because the hardware is the same. It had to compensate for a few differences through software but it's really nothing much.
