GameCube exploit Idea

I recently saw the adapter to connect an sd card to the memory card slot of the GameCube and I also saw a video on how to write save date on a memory card, via Wii homebrew. What if it was possible, to write a boot.dol, on a memory card, or a costum save file which boots into homebrew, just like the twilight hack in the early says of wii modding, without extra hardware. Just with an ordinary memory card, a Wii and a GameCube.
Do you think that would be possible, or is there some kinda formatting issue I'm not considering.
