Thanks for the links. So does anyone know what Brakken is doing these days? I've always enjoyed tehskeen for its reporting of scene news.

I miss him too... maybe a little quirky, but most often his attitude was right on the money (especially concerning others that would just copy news from his site and never mentioned the source...). The man knew what he was talking about, and had built a great community. I hope he's still lurking around somewhere...

he pops up randomly on the IRC channel about once every half a year.. last I saw him on there was 25th of July 2010.
Jul 25 12:48:22 --> brakk3n (~brakk3n@63-225-198-38.phnx.qwest.net) has joined #tehskeen
Jul 25 12:48:38 <brakk3n> len rings a bell
Jul 25 12:48:44 <brakk3n> liquitt is a bitch
Jul 25 12:48:48 <brakk3n> emu kidid :)
Jul 25 12:49:01 <brakk3n> hanging around to diss me or hack me? :)
Jul 25 12:49:12 <radorn> wow, brakken
Jul 25 12:49:35 <radorn> you finally surface
Jul 25 12:49:36 <radorn> :)
Jul 25 12:49:38 <brakk3n> your nick sounds vagualy familiar
Jul 25 12:49:42 <Len> hmm
Jul 25 12:50:02 <radorn> I won one of the compos at tehskeen so we talked a bit
Jul 25 12:50:05 <radorn> acekard
Jul 25 12:50:18 <brakk3n> ah
Jul 25 12:50:24 <brakk3n> why the hell do you stay in this chan?
Jul 25 12:50:43 <Len> so, what brings ya by?
Jul 25 12:50:47 <radorn> actually I only found about this channel shortly before tehskeen died
Jul 25 12:51:27 <brakk3n> len: why do i remember your name?
Jul 25 12:51:38 <brakk3n> seems like some early 1990's
Jul 25 12:51:41 <brakk3n> long before tehskeen
Jul 25 12:51:45 <brakk3n> *talking to len
Jul 25 12:51:49 <Len> nah
Jul 25 12:52:00 <brakk3n> don't make me check my logs :)
Jul 25 12:52:04 <brakk3n> who are you?
Jul 25 12:52:14 <radorn> video girl len? :D
Jul 25 12:52:20 <Len> ;-)
Jul 25 12:52:29 <brakk3n> hmm...
Jul 25 12:52:45 <brakk3n> don't ring a bell
Jul 25 12:52:55 <Len> im nobody, really
Jul 25 12:53:02 <radorn> sorry, Len, but your nick always reminds me of that series
Jul 25 12:53:07 <radorn> even if I never watched it
Jul 25 12:53:09 <radorn> xD
Jul 25 12:53:49 <brakk3n> no, i clearly recall the name "len"
Jul 25 12:54:05 <brakk3n> and I think it was before tehskeen, back in #gcmods
Jul 25 12:54:05 <Len> ever sell that domain for 5,000?
Jul 25 12:54:16 <brakk3n> or maybe even before that
Jul 25 12:54:36 <brakk3n> I've been on efnet a very, very long time
Jul 25 12:54:49 <brakk3n> nah, i gave the domain to foundmy.com
Jul 25 12:55:00 <brakk3n> he paid my hosting bills for a few years
Jul 25 12:55:03 <brakk3n> least a could do
Jul 25 12:55:08 <brakk3n> i know it was worth a lot more
Jul 25 12:55:16 <brakk3n> but, bleh, money isn't everything
Jul 25 12:55:34 <Len> how's your new site?
Jul 25 12:55:41 <brakk3n> I have no new site
Jul 25 12:55:51 <brakk3n> I saw this tehskeen.info
Jul 25 12:55:54 <brakk3n> I have no part in it
Jul 25 12:56:04 <brakk3n> if I did it would be updated a lot more
Jul 25 12:56:09 <Len> lol
Jul 25 12:56:43 <brakk3n> god, while searching for your nick i found modthat cube pdf
Jul 25 12:57:16 <Len> so what actually did happen to tehskeen?
Jul 25 12:59:09 <brakk3n> Pennsylvania, Greensburg
Jul 25 12:59:13 <brakk3n> at least your american
Jul 25 12:59:21 <brakk3n> still, you're not telling me our past
Jul 25 12:59:29 <brakk3n> and I have a declining memory
Jul 25 12:59:50 <Len> no past, i was just a frequent visitor of tehskeen
Jul 25 13:00:07 <brakk3n> anyway, tehskeen's server crashed, the most recent backup was of the curroupted system (server wise)
Jul 25 13:00:21 <brakk3n> I had a complete backup on blueray (the site was like 20GB)
Jul 25 13:00:29 <brakk3n> the fucking blueray disc wouldn't read
Jul 25 13:00:36 <brakk3n> in 3 different drivers
Jul 25 13:00:37 <Len> wow.. that sucks
Jul 25 13:00:39 <brakk3n> *drives
Jul 25 13:00:54 <brakk3n> I tried restorating programs suggested by xaniax
Jul 25 13:00:58 <brakk3n> nothing worked
Jul 25 13:01:09 <brakk3n> so 5 years of work got lost
Jul 25 13:01:15 <brakk3n> i got in issues with advertisers
Jul 25 13:01:18 <brakk3n> it was a mess
Jul 25 13:01:42 <Len> why are you here now?
Jul 25 13:01:45 <brakk3n> I now believe I probably deserved it
Jul 25 13:01:59 <brakk3n> I became what I disliked in the scene
Jul 25 13:02:14 <brakk3n> well, not totally, but I cracked under the pressure
Jul 25 13:02:28 <brakk3n> I should of been more careful
Jul 25 13:02:46 <brakk3n> I'm here now because I wanted to see if this channel still existed
Jul 25 13:03:17 <brakk3n> and for some reason when I'm talking to you I don't think I'm just not talking to you
Jul 25 13:03:25 <brakk3n> I can't recall who you are
Jul 25 13:03:33 <brakk3n> but, I think I've given you shit in the past
Jul 25 13:04:29 <Len> you may not like me
Jul 25 13:04:40 <brakk3n> I also gave wraggster from dcemu a lot of shit, but his lack of sourcing and stealing news has been bypassed by his commitment to the "scene"
Jul 25 13:04:52 <brakk3n> he keeps posting
Jul 25 13:04:55 <brakk3n> no matter what
Jul 25 13:05:02 <brakk3n> that is something i admire
Jul 25 13:05:13 <brakk3n> none the less, you said i may not like you
Jul 25 13:05:17 <brakk3n> why not be honest
Jul 25 13:05:24 <brakk3n> and tell me what we got into ]
Jul 25 13:05:27 <brakk3n> in the past
Jul 25 13:05:29 <Len> i own tehskeen.info
Jul 25 13:05:34 <brakk3n> oh
Jul 25 13:05:45 <Len> and newskeen.com
Jul 25 13:05:53 <brakk3n> yes, one leads to another
Jul 25 13:06:03 <brakk3n> but, before that
Jul 25 13:06:16 <brakk3n> i know your nick
Jul 25 13:06:21 <brakk3n> i'll go to pm
Jul 25 13:06:27 <Len> b4 that, i just love to goto tehskeen
Jul 25 13:12:48 <Odb|Work> yo
Jul 25 13:12:52 * Odb|Work slaps HelsAngel around a bit with a large trout
Jul 25 13:13:21 <brakk3n> hey odb
Jul 25 13:13:24 <brakk3n> long time
Jul 25 13:13:30 <brakk3n> not that we ever talked a lot :)
Jul 25 13:13:38 <brakk3n> you old dirty bastard
Jul 25 13:13:56 <brakk3n> you going to say "hi" or say "fuck you for leaving"
Jul 25 13:13:57 <brakk3n> ?
Jul 25 13:14:00 <Odb|Work> what the heck have you been doing?

Jul 25 13:14:20 <Odb|Work> well that's no good
Jul 25 13:14:23 <brakk3n> had to move into the ghetto of phoenix
Jul 25 13:14:31 <brakk3n> i stay inside mostly
Jul 25 13:14:35 <brakk3n> drink when i can afford it
Jul 25 13:14:44 <Odb|Work> heh
Jul 25 13:14:44 <brakk3n> fucking hot outside this time of year
Jul 25 13:14:46 <brakk3n> 100+
Jul 25 13:14:53 <brakk3n> costs a lot to cool the place
Jul 25 13:14:54 <brakk3n> sucks
Jul 25 13:14:55 <Odb|Work> I have beers in my fridge but dont like thme

Jul 25 13:17:11 <brakk3n> then begs me to feed it
Jul 25 13:18:06 <Odb|Work> lol
Jul 25 13:18:40 <Odb|Work> I get palmeto bugs (big ass roaches) one once a month

Just an FYI - a lot (if not all) of YAGCD is archived on web.archive.org/, which I'd highly recommend you all learn about if you don't know already. It's a website where users take snapshots of websites in their current state on that day. Keep your info archived there; you have no idea (well, you probably do) how invaluable some of the info on there. I've found tons of prototype resources from games that demoed at E3 2002 and the like. It's great. A portal to the past! *psychedelic colours*

TL;DR: archive.org is your friend.

Isn't YAGCD hosted here in it's entirety ?

Yes it is. Whilst archive.org is nice, it's also nice to host something like yagcd here too as I feel it's come in handy on so many occasions for me.

I didn't mean to imply that it shouldn't be hosted here, but rather that should anyone come across useful information, to archive it. I've done so with multiple tool links and the like, so to make sure theres a backup somewhere online.

archive.org actually uses automatic web crawling to build their web archive. No actual users are involved.

Definitely a valuable resource, but a live website is preferable because it's generally faster and doesn't have any of that archive.org cruft that they put on every page.

Didn't know about the web crawling, but you can in fact "force" archive a page, and I have done so. On https://archive.org/web/, there is a "Save Page Now" type-in box on the bottom right side of the page. Pasting in the URL will then proceed to archive the page. I've archived a handful of obscure pages that don't get crawled.

Nah, I was just trolling. Most people think that anything >2 years old is old junk nowadays. My father says that the GameCube is crap because SD and age, but he knows nuthin'.

It's a great phone still heh, I'll probably get a new one later this year. For me, a great phone = something that can run most SNES games full speed + use a controller via bluetooth .. I really don't have much reason to move on from it apart from general slowness with all the mainstream bloatware I have installed (facebook, etc)
