Atari 2600/7800 emulators

Post by karl_oz » Wed Jun 12, 2013 5:29 pm

Today I stumbled across this website, which states that the emulators Wii2600 and Wii7800 both should work on the Gamecube as well. Unfortunately this information isn't accurate........ yet ;) At least, the sourcecode for these emulators is available and maybe someone experienced enough is able to take a look at it? These Atari systems would be kinda the last missing, better known systems of the 8-bit/16-bit era that "deserve" to be emulated on the Gamecube! So, I keep my fingers crossed... :)

Yes an a Atari 2600/7800 emu working from SD would be great and very appreciated. Hope someone with skills could take a look at it in the near future.

Sorry I don't think there is any good Atari emulator for GameCube yet. Retroarch for GameCube has many emulators but they are mostly broken I think.

how old is this emulator? we might be able to rip out the wii specific bits and make it run on the gamecube. the newer the code is the easier this is to do.

It's pretty old, but I doubt much has happened in the Atari 2600/7800 emulation scene since (happy to be corrected if I'm wrong).
