Homebrew Browser

Homebrew Browser
Author: teknecal

(taken from http://wiibrew.org/wiki/Homebrew_Browser)

The Homebrew Browser allows you to download the latest homebrew applications and games all through your Wii.
You don't need to take your SD card out. You don't even need a computer! You can also delete homebrew you no longer want.
No more dead links, no more extracting files, no more finding out that the homebrew application doesn't include an
icon.png and meta.xml in the zip file.

Keep up to date with weekly notification emails, add hbb@codemii.com to your Wii address book to get fortnightly updates sent to your Wii.

Features

- One click download/(un)install/update for each homebrew application
- Auto updating when your Homebrew Browser version is out of date

How to Install

Create an /apps folder on the root of your SD card (e.g. E:/apps).
Copy the homebrew_browser folder to the /apps folder on your SD card.
Ensure that the little write lock switch on your SD card is off.
Launch via the Homebrew Channel.

Love this app, it makes the life much easyer! A must have!

I installed HBB on a friends wii and it kept getting code dump errors, we gave up on modding his wii after he told me he bought it off craigslist....

It's a problem with the IOS. Update all the IOS thenn reinstall the latest version of HBC. That should fix the code dump problems.

lets pretend im a noob and dont know how to update the IOS. he is running the latest nintendo updates....

i took it to my house to bench test it and it ran fine at my house (connected to my network)

when he took it home it will not connect to his network and gives code dump errors sometimes as soon as he runs HBC

In that case how close to his wireless source is his Wii? It may be a bit to far from the wireless source. I had the same issues with an older router if I wasn't on the same floor as the Router.

its in his bedroom maybe 8ft from his wii. I noticed somebody else on this forum had the same problem. I have tried completely redoing his network with NO security and his wii will not connect. Tried WPA2, WPA, No encryption, doesnt seem to matter.

I downloaded syscheck off HBB at my house and ran it on his wii and showed a couple people online the results. They said it didnt look like there were any cIOS or any patchwork done to his wii. Im ready to just write it off as something the previous owner did that messed it up (probably why he sold it on CL)
