Hey, so I was just wondering if there was a way to somehow modify the Phantasy Star Online web browser so that it can go to any web address.
I'm going to have a look at the contents of the disc myself but if you guys have any information, that would be great!
It would be pretty cool to be able to boot up a .dol and browse the web you know

You can use DNS redirection and/or a http proxy to redirect the default page to Google... it's a pretty outdated browser though.

Hmm ok, that seems like a good idea.
Yes it's outdated and I know the gamecube might not be able to handle quite a lot of websites due to older technology, but it would still be pretty neat. Meanwhile the Dreamcast has about 4 or 5 different web browsers
Thanks for the information, I'm going to see if I can modify the browser this weekend anyways

Four or five?
I remember Dreamkey, Planet Web and the Dream Passport Japanese one? Different versions exist of these too

Well this is what Google looks like atm.......
I actually modified the configuration files within the disc to achieve this, almost everything can be changed.
And yes AC_Orange I was indicating some of the extra modded versions of those browsers

Even if it does look outdated, the thought that you can access the web (or, at the very least Google) is awesome!

Been busy as of lately, I will try and get a pic of gc-forever up soon
Also I just wanted to make it clear that I don't have a lot of experience in programming and I am only doing this for a bit of fun.

You should make it go to an IFrame HTML page that is a browser in it of itself
Like those proxy browser sites, just without the proxy.

Seems Chrome or Firefox didn't meet GC players' expectation?
