Wolfenstein 3D for GameCube Help??

Post by gc8tech » Fri Mar 01, 2024 6:51 am

Hello,

I'm new to the Fourm.. but not new to modding and GameCube etc.

I'm trying to get a port of "Wolfenstein 3D" to work on the Cube. I either get a black screen OR a screen looking for a file thats already on the SD card.

https://igspgm.com/wolfy3d-GC.zip

This is what i'm using. If anyone can help. That would be great.

Thanks,

Tim.

Where do you put your SD card?

Some of the older homebrews only works with the SD adapter and card in the slot a, that may just be the problem.
DMG/MultiFreq OC/EDGB/EZF Jr, AGB/SC miniSD, NTR/NeoMK3, USG/flashme V8/SC miniSD
DOL001(EUR)/RGB/GCPlug/GBP/SD2SP2, RVL 001(EUR)/RGB/CMP/WiiSD

OK.. i got a tad further. I added the file the program was looking for to a swiss ISO. It got me a tad further along. But then it fails while trying to find more files. I tried to add more files to the swiss ISO like i had done before.

But the dvd doesn't load on my GC. I presume you have to use a special GC ISO edit tool to add files to the Swiss ISO?? Can anyone recommend a GC ISO editor?? All i want to do is add some files and dirs to a Swiss ISO.....

Thanks guys for your time.

I tryed the first memory card slot (And the second one) with an adaptor to a SD card. Wii Key i think mine is? I also tried a memory to a micro sd. The "GC2SD" in both memory slots. I have tried FAT, FAT32 and exFat. I tried different card sizes. 2GB (FAT), 32GB (FAT32) and 128GB (exFat)

I tryed different speed cards as well. I didn't try the newer SP2 SD adaptor PCB.

I tryed adding files to the swiss DVD ISO. But that only worked adding 1 file.. I presume there is a GC ISO editor your meant to use??

Thanks for all the help.

Did you put the needed W3D datafiles in the folders?
The homebrew is just the game engine, you have to get the files from an original copy of the game.

Yes, I added all the files from the original dos version. It comes with the Shareware files as well.

I'm running out of ideas :-(

Its for my youngest Son. He really wants to play it. Thanks for all your help!

I guess he isn't that young now... But they grow up so quick.

Still looking for a ISO editor that will work with a GC ISO. I'd really like to try making a Swiss ISO with all the files for the game on it.. and see if that works. I got it to work a bit more by putting 1 file extra in the ISO. But i tryed to add more and the disk doesn't work. So i presume there is a proper GC ISO editing program???

Thanks again,

Tim.
