Datel, viper or something else?

Post by simpleraison » Mon Mar 11, 2013 5:52 pm

I'm pretty new to the Gamecube modding scene but i want to give it a try, basically want to be able to use my gamecube to play backed up gamecube games from discs i have and also ISO i have obtained online of games i own.

I just wondered as you guys here seem to be the elders on the subject what suggestions you had for the best mod to do this? If i can avoid it i dont want to run into any issues playing these backedup games and it would be nice if its able to play all PAL games as i noticed some mods do give issues.

So fire away let me know the perfecto setup so i can get modding.

Also sorry if this has been asked before i did read alot of the forum before posting and couldnt find a thread similar! L-)

Thanks guys so basically looking at a hardware mod, is the chip easy to install? I have done soldering in the past so im not a newbie to it but i want to avoid it if its a pain to get it installed such as hard to get to screws etc!

Also where is the best place to buy a xenogc from?

Thanks

for example here:
http://www.eurasia.nu/shop/product_info ... cts_id=300

they also have the install diagrams linked there. you can also build a xenogc on your own, since the source was released. search the forums for that.

xeno will let you boot homebrew discs or backup dvds...
once you load a dvd homebrew like swiss or sdload, then you can use dol files from your sd card...
to back up games, use cleanrip

Cool dude and my guess is that the dol files are the games? Also any guides on where to download games online and how to burn them properly.

Another thing i wondered if anyone actually here had a chipped PAL UK gamecube for sale?

To be honest I don't understand all the taboo around this.
It made sense when gc games still got sold.
But now the original developers won't get a single penny from it if you buy it online.
