Hi everyone,
8 years ago i made huge mistake when i tried to flash my ViperGC bios from cobra 1.6 to 2.1, but the bios file wasn't cobra 2.1 and was actually GCOS 1.X. The gamecube stopped reading disks and i ditched it on shelf and now i'm trying to get it back to work.
I powered up the laser little bit and got it to read discs again, but i still don't know is there anyway to flash it by dvd. GCOS itself doesn't support flashing by dvd, so i was thinking that is there any homebrew dol around there that could let me do it?
And if the only way is to flash it is via programmer does anyone have idea where to get those now a days? I have tried to search from everywhere but i cant find any.
Thanks in advance,

Re: Updating from GCOS 1.X to Cobra 2.1
Sorry I'm pretty sure flashing with a flasher is your only option since you already left Cobra BIOS (only software that supports flashing I know of).
I'm not sure if anyone has tried extracting the cobra OS as DOL... maybe that could be used to allow flashing from GC? since you got GC OS already can't you chainload SWISS from that?

Re: Updating from GCOS 1.X to Cobra 2.1
Even if you could boot Cobra, the Viper itself will be disabled because of the flags in the flash header. This holds true for iplboot, but I'm not entirely sure about GCOS. If it doesn't disable the Viper, then it's possible to write our own flasher.

I have a parallel port spare programmer if you still have the flex cable or are willing to buy another. I believe GCOS disables the Viper (via dollz) otherwise it wouldn't boot.zuuzou wrote: ↑Sun Oct 21, 2018 1:22 pmHi everyone,
