Status update on SMB:
http://www.livestream.com/extremscorner ... 0a0df0441a

Things left before the port is considered complete:
- Protect PIO from BBA interrupts. (critical)
- ISO9660 support, if I ever manage to do a good burn.
- IDE-EXI support, if I get a hold of one.

Might be worth renaming the player since CE is a mobile OS for Windows.

I can't release a build with networking support until the first point is taken care of.

Wow would i be right in thinking this plays movies and music from SD card?.. have been looking for a media player for the cube for a while...
I tried to launch this with SD Media Launcher and the mplayer.dol file on the root of th SD card, gives me a black screen, error then resets the cube.
Do I have to do anything else to get this to work(like a patch, install or place in another Directory) or is it only for modchips?

Thanks

use sdload to run it, it won't work with sdml dol loader.

mfe-mortimor-edition can also play media files on the cube

Hmm thanks for the info, I had the same problem loading it up in SDLOAD though as I did in SDML Dol Loader.
Gives me a black screen with
Please check the directory of the install is valid or something along those lines,

I have tried:
(Launching in SDLOAD)
mplayer.dol in root of SD card, In a folder sd:\mplayer, and also tried sd:\apps\mplayer...

I am guessing i have done something wrong, that or it doesnt like my 'Verbatim 2gb SD'

1) Does the Dol file need to be anywhere specific, also does the media files need to be anywhere specific?
2) Do I need to use any other files from the MPLAYER archive?

As for mfe-mortimor i have no idea how to work this either, i have had a play around with it, I can load up the Mortboot.dol and screen freezes on this line:
Request:1/0 error, dev sdcarda, sector 0 ... I guess this is a compatability error with my 'Verbatim 2gb SD'

3) MFE-Mortimer can load movies only from dvd? or it works off SD also?
4) Also im unsure of what to do with the mfe-fs.bz2 file, where does it go?

Thank you!

mplayer.dol and mplayer folder both in root here.
I haven't got mfe on my card atm, I believe I had it root also
mfe-fs.bz2 and mortboot.dol
it only worked from either slot a or b irc try the sdml adpator in both slots the mfe-fs.bz2 takes a while to unpack into memory anyway.

Great thanks for your help, I now have mplayer working.. Awesome
One Question:
Does it support SDHC? I havent got one lying around to try it but would concider buying one for the combination of this and Swiss's SDHC support..

Would obviously rather have one of those awesome IDE adapters but.. I got here a little late it seems :x

SD to IDE or Sata converter, plug the sd end into your sdgecko / sdml and the other end on IDE or Sata. Making a HDD work as a SD card :ugeek:

Searched the web can't find any either only the other way around making a fake ssd drive from sdcard's for ide or sata, you could make your own though ;-)

No. they're totally different protocols/devices. if it was that easy do you think the ide-exi would've come about?
