Mplayer-CE Gamecube and Broadband Adapter support

Post by Borg Number One » Tue Feb 09, 2021 10:26 pm

Hi,

I am currently playing with Mplayer-CE r658 - GameCube release...
https://storage.googleapis.com/google-c ... e_r658.zip

...and the different .conf files.
(tried both variants: a) booting through SD Media Launcher/Action Replay DVD and SWISS[autoexec.DOL] and mplayer.dol, b) booting through SD Media Launcher/Action Replay DVD and mplayer.dol[renamed to autoexec.DOL])

Well, I am just wondering why there is no smb.conf or ftp.conf inside the Mplayer-CE r658 Gamecube version.
And I am wondering why nothing is set in the menu.conf regarding SMB / FTP.
Does the Mplayer-CE r658 Gamecube version have support for the Nintendo GameCube Broadband Adapter DOL-015 at all?

Hello
Mplayer-CE is the only video player avaiable for GameCube?

It can't play nothing. I have tried H264 1280x720 mp4 and crashes

I'm not sure what you expected playing a 720p video.

GameCube is not powerful enough to play 720p video?

There's barely enough memory for decoding 640x480 H.264 video. The Wii is barely capable of decoding 1280x720 H.264 video even after optimizations.
